Looks like a domain-squatter, full of ads and whatnot and a nice big link "Enquire about this domain".by bfleming - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
We are now cutting kits for Isaac. This is a Mendel derivative and will have nearly all the same abilities as the original. We changed pretty much every single part (sans simple clamps) to make it easier to machine. All the critical dimensions for the Mendel have been maintained so that our parts could be substitute with original parts, not on a per-part basis but definitely on a per-assembly baby bfleming - General New Machines Topics
We can provide STL's, but can't attach them to this message. File size is over 26Mb I'll try to get it up on the RepRap forum or our website soon. If you have another method to receive it please let me know.by bfleming - Altes Forum
Hmmm, great minds think alike The final Isaac design uses our same design for Z and Y as did the X carriage. So every axis only uses 8 bearings. I just wish I could read German, and babel fish. I tried many different orientations but the picture you have above won't constrain the bed from lifting. Try rotating the bearings 90 degree so that one is above and one below but still around 120 degreby bfleming - Altes Forum
WOW Very nice...by bfleming - General Mendel Topics
Would you accept a non-standard design for those parts? First picture on this page shows our new z design. Dimensionally it is the same but may use a slightly different length belt. It also uses only 2 cross rods instead of 4, and they are shorter. The 2 parts are machined from a composite plastic/wood like Trex. BTW I'm in Blacksburg, were are you at?by bfleming - Wanted
nophead, have you tried PDFCreator? It a FOSS PDF generator that you can print to from any application, including Visio. I use it daily and it is very easy and transparent. Can't say how well it works with large paper sizes though.by bfleming - General Mendel Topics
Looks like I spent way to long tweaking my post. BeaglyFury beat me to the GPL FAQ quote.by bfleming - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Nophead is right, and GPL prevents degrading of the license in that exact way. You are bound by the license you received, which in the case of the GPL dictates that that same license apply to all derivative works. Only the original author can change the license and he never loses that right. BeagleFury is also right, the GPL was designed very specifically for software the GNU website states cleaby bfleming - Administration, Announcements, Policy
We are going to start with just the machined pieces, belts and pulleys. We might add others as time permits but there are Mendel electronics, extruder, and hardware kits already for sale on these forums.by bfleming - General New Machines Topics
We all have our moments Hopefully this hasn't upset Kym to much. It's hard to not take something like that personally. I doubt it was personal, just someone wanting to vent. It happens a lot in all communities and hopefully we just move on; as a community. Now kiss and make upby bfleming - For Sale
You don't even have to use a ball mill. I use an end-mill and make square slots. It holds every bit as good as the original. As far as 8mm vs 5/16... you shouldn't notice but you could slightly deeper to adjust it. The material, unless your milling metals, will compress enough to compensate.by bfleming - General Mendel Topics
Woodworking is hard and your patience shows. Very impressive, and very well done.by bfleming - General New Machines Topics
If all the stars align correctly, we may list a few on eBay to test the waters this week. It depends on when our first round of belts and pulleys show up. We plan on including those in the kit unless the buyer requests otherwise.by bfleming - General New Machines Topics
ksmith, That was our plan from the beginning; to keep the Mendel's dimensions so that it is both a Repstrap and Reprap(able). Each piece was redesigned to be both machinable and printable. We also tried to simplify it along the way, so far we are down from the original 95 RP parts to roughly 45 RP (wood/plastic/???). It may go back up a few parts this weekend. Thanks for watching us! Keep in mind that this was Adrian's auction; not just some random person who printed parts. It's practically a collectors item if it comes from him. ksmith5135 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I was amazed to see Adrian's set go for over $600 > CAN. I don't have time to learn how to use the wiki just yet. But I've got a blog in progress here. Once we have Version 1 done (within days I hope), I'd love for the community to run with it and modify the parts. Any good ideas we'll turn around and update the design and new parts sets will have the new designs included. If someone here already has electronics for Mendel, and possibly even the rodsby bfleming - General Mendel Topics
Yes we are going to make the design available. Don't know how/where yet. We definitely want as much feedback as possible so that we can keep making it better for everyone. You know, in hindsight I probably should use a different username. bfleming is way to close to tbfleming, my brother.by bfleming - General New Machines Topics
You know this has gotten me thinking. There are designs out there for pellet extruders, but they all seem a bit big for the Mendel. But what if we two staged it? What if someone build a pellet extruder that produced the right sized filament to feed into a roller extruder. I would think that would be a slick way to produce your own filament, in 'reel' timeby bfleming - For Sale
You could make some Mendel parts as-is on a 2.5D mill, but not all. You would end up designing your own jigs for all the angled holes. There is a design coming that makes all the parts for Mendel easily built on a 2.5D mill. We are still testing it, but it is coming soon.by bfleming - General Mendel Topics
I have no idea what a "guite rap of thin tape" is If you find the fit isn't tight enough just and a thin wrap of tape.by bfleming - General Mendel Topics
There is less that 3 thousands difference between the two, you'll have no problems. I've tried all the mendel clamps with both 8mm and 5/16 threaded and smooth and the provide enough clamping. In the off case where they are a bit loose, a guite rap of thin tape will take care of it. There is more than enough clamping in the bearing designs to take bite as well. The real fun is in the 3mm andby bfleming - General Mendel Topics
