Quoteurbanzakapa Quote3dkarma Have you set the vref on the stepper drivers? If they are under-volted they won't move. Have you set the steps per mm for each axis and the extruder in the firmware? I have set the value for each axis and extruder but I'm not sure about the vref on the stepper drivers. How can I set it up? http://www.nextdayreprap.co.uk/commissioning-reprap-prusa-mendel-build-manuby eci22 - Reprappers
Hi, Set your retract angle to the same as your extend angle in marlin, after you have performed leveling send a M280 command to retract the servo manually e.g. G29 M280 P0 Sx ; where x is the desired angle of retraction. You could put this into a macro to make it automated.by eci22 - Reprappers

Hi all, I've spent quite a few hours on this and I'm running out of ideas, I really hope someone can help. I've calculated the Z offset from the extruder as 4.2mm, In marling Ive put in -4.2mm as per the instructions. I start pronterface and home all axis, then run the G29 command. The probe hits 4 spots and retracts as all the videos I've seen. However the Extruder doesn't move down to the bedby eci22 - Reprappers
Make sure the COM port selected in Pronterface is the same as the COM port assigned to your board by Windowsby eci22 - Reprappers
Have you confirmed your bed is perfectly level ?by eci22 - General Mendel Topics
Same as above my prints are unmovable using PVA diluted in water, I was having the same issues as you described before I brushed glue on the glassby eci22 - General Mendel Topics
Quoterepraptech First of all Thank you guys for keeping the topic in motion...CHeersssss to eci22 , vreihen and John de Michele eci22: I have not inverted the Z direction yet. few things i want to know before i can do that. Is there any way to access the firmware which is installed in the microcontroller??The microcontroller that i am using had a preinstalled firmware(Sprinter). Do i have to chby eci22 - Reprappers
Have you measured the resistance of your PCB heatbed ?by eci22 - Reprappers
You're going to risk scratching your smooth rods. If you cant print a mount at the very least zip tie them to the threaded rod.by eci22 - Reprappers

Have you inverted your Z direction in your firmware? This is for Marlin which has a comment that it should be set to false for a mendel machine. #define INVERT_Z_DIR true // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true check your firmware for this valueby eci22 - Reprappers
You can always just run the RAMPS test code, without any firmware just to make sure you have good motors and steppersby eci22 - RAMPS Electronics
Those would really good to see, any plans for releasing the STLs ? colour scheme is cool tooby eci22 - General Mendel Topics
@regpye - how do you mount the fans to the sides of your x-carriage ? that's a really good solutionby eci22 - General Mendel Topics
1. have you checked you have the right thermistor selected in your firmware after the update ? 2. the other approach would be to check your thermistor is reading correctly. take off ramps and just test the thermistor directly on the arduino (assuming you have an arduino type setup). http://playground.arduino.cc/ComponentLib/Thermistor2#.UzVQJah_vz4 there are other examples available of readinby eci22 - General Mendel Topics
1. Make sure you are using the correct config file. As far as I remember with teacup you have to rename config.ramps-v1.3.h to config.h. 2. In your config.ramps-v1.3.h section 3 is called pinouts. Should be able to make your changes there https://github.com/Traumflug/Teacup_Firmware/blob/master/config.ramps-v1.3.hby eci22 - General
If you disable "min software endstops" you will be able to move your axis below what marlin is recognising as '0'. when you press the home for each axis it should move toward your end stop switch.by eci22 - General Mendel Topics
Have you measured the resistance of your heatbed ? Does it heat OK if you connect the heatbed directly to your power supply (dont do this without knowing the resistance first)by eci22 - General Mendel Topics
Try this one http://www.nextdayreprap.co.uk/commissioning-reprap-prusa-mendel-build-manual/ You need to select 11.4 "Pololu stepper driver configuration" from the top tabsby eci22 - RAMPS Electronics
QuoteLucasGelf ... Ease of Assembly - No soldering please Documentation - I’m not very good with this stuff….. Ease of Use - I don’t want to be constantly fixing this. Price Range - $500-900 ... I'm not sure you're going to find a kit that doesn't require at least one of these things. Even if you got a replicator or UP! you would still need to read the documentationby eci22 - General
The pots on the stepper motor drivers are normally facing the other way (assuming what you have is a pololu clone). Double check you have them installed correctlyby eci22 - Reprappers
Hi all, After lurking this forum for a while I am about to go ahead and build an Prusa I3.
