is anyone going to show RepRap or similar open source projects?by RoundSparrow - General
I haven't heard much RepRap activity out of the ACTLab guys. I personally have demoed my out of date RepRap stuff a few times, but haven't had a lot of time.by RoundSparrow - Texas, Austin RepRap User Group
Hi, I'm contacting Zach but also wanted to post here. We are doing some Xen Linux upgrades on the host for 65.19.156.16 that is reprap.org homepage. Total downtime should be less than 1 hour today, starting in the next 30 minuts. Stephen Gutknecht Canyon Lake, Texas Stephen@HillTx.comby RoundSparrow - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Zach - so has the diagram/pinout been changed?by RoundSparrow - Controllers
I too have been out of touch for a couple months - and am getting local interest in Austin Has the extruder gearing been put to use? What materials in the USA for extrusion are working and at what temperature range? Anything else? Thank you.by RoundSparrow - Polymer Working Group
I suggest a bit of rework: I suggest 'Redefine' vs. 'Bring-down'?by RoundSparrow - General
Someone here in Austin made contact with me at Jelly on Friday and the local university is doing a RepRap similar project and wanted me to come to a meeting they are having. If there is anyone else active in Houston/San Antonio/Austin - speak up!by RoundSparrow - Texas, Houston RepRap User Group
The entire Houston group seem to disintegrate. Personally for me I thought RepRap was on the verge of accelerating into a lot more completed machines. But the results with the extruder and materials was pretty discouraging to me. But I haven't lost interest, mostly dealing with some personal matters. I've now got a home office in South Austin and can host people for 3 days at a time. If youby RoundSparrow - Texas, Houston RepRap User Group
I'm here now in South Austin and dual homing in Canyon Lake. I'll be at next couple Jelly events And Also the Door64 tech meetup this Thursday. Email me or contact on twitter:by RoundSparrow - Texas, Austin RepRap User Group

Hi guys, First off I want to apologize for slowdown of my RepRap activity in past 10 days, I've got some health issues. Thanks.by RoundSparrow - Texas, Houston RepRap User Group
Going over Patrick's website, I really would like to get him more involved. 1. He is selling kits for $200 with parts to build his CNC. 2. Reading his website today it says "January 2, 2008 Happy New Year!! Although the CNC structure kit is available, I'm still in prototype stage with the electronics." I wonder if he is aware of the generation2 electronics for RepRap? I'd really like to seeby RoundSparrow - Texas, Houston RepRap User Group
I wanted to make sure James saw this... I think within days of our meeting Steve D and Zach made changes to the generation2 firmware and the thermistor readings are supposed to be impacted. I think this is supposed to improve the 200c + reading range. I haven't tested yet, but making sure you guys were aware that I was using and commenting on the firmware PRIOR to this change. There is anotheby RoundSparrow - Texas, Houston RepRap User Group

So I contacted solvay (Houston,Texas HQ nearby) selling CAPA and I asked for a free sample... and ultimately they mentioned England. So I asked them why not here in Texas? Answer I got: there are only two plants in the world that make PCLs - one in England and one in Japan ================= So that might explain why those of us in the USA find this stuff so expensive I vote we work on a Hiby RoundSparrow - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I'm open to suggestions on earlier dates. i think it needs to be 1 month out to give a chance for airfare purchases to anyone. But sooner the better. I'm also focused on software side too. I expect that within 1 month that we will have at least 4 working RepStrap machines so hopefully we can be onto working on some other aspects like optimizing output / testing print ideas / or validating relby RoundSparrow - Texas, Houston RepRap User Group
Anyone out there tested the version 1.2 prints to help out. Never hurts to have a second set. Watching your original video on first set you had cut back in October, I know the guy doing the cutting used Corel Draw and had to tweak the prints. Anyone have some help on this? Also looking for some idea on what price seems fair. i know here in Houston we probably need at least 3 sets... so probaby RoundSparrow - Mechanics

Zach, is there some kind of ETA on these laser-cut parts. I haven't lost faith ... just trying to help out here. Does it make sense that we try to organize a group purchase on our own?by RoundSparrow - Mechanics

Ok, so again Robert Teeter has taken upon himself to follow me around on this forum and tell me what I need to know or otherwise discuss. It is clear to me that price and availability of motors in the USA is a significant factor in keeping people from building RepRap's. It seems hard for me to ignore that Texas seems to be a world leader in plastics industry... and maybe we need to be recruiting some engineers to get involved in RepRap (on their own personal time).
