Dev firmware 4.2 Pronterface can't conect - 9 years ago
I am trying to install the latest dev version 4.2, I have configured using the online configurator and have downloaded the file. Using the latest veriosn of the Aurduino IDE after uploading Pronterface will not connect. When I click the connect button in Pronterface it appears to reset my controller becasue the LCD screen clears then displays the Kimbra marlin 4.2 screen then the printer info scrby randyf1965 - GCODE, Software e Firmware

I have installed Marlin 1.02 on my homebrewed Prusa i3v and went to test the repeatability of the z probe. I would recommend the i3v,vslot rails, WORLD of difference over the smooth rod versions. Just finished rebuilding mine, as if you are ever finished tweaking and upgradingby randyf1965 - Prusa i3 and variants

In theory with the nut on the bottom of the x axis if you drive the hot end into the bed, the nut will pop out and save your printer from destroying itselfby randyf1965 - Prusa i3 and variants

I have rebuilt my i3 using Opoenbuilds Vslot and have to say WOW. just printed a bracket to mount my dial indicator on the x carriage, zoo turbidity t spent about 3 minutes tuning the bed. So far corner to corner side to side within .005" of perfectly flat. I will post pictures of the parts I printed to do the upgrade and some test prints when I get some free time.by randyf1965 - Prusa i3 and variants

I downloaded the latest Marlin firmware and modified the configuration.h based on my OLD configuration.h file and get errors when I compile. Not very descriptive to me! Got it to compile with everything from my old configuration.h but autoleveling still doesn't work very well. The gap changes drastically from left to right and front to back.by randyf1965 - General Mendel Topics

I am trying to try a newer firmware to see it autoleveling works better. The back of my bed is lower than the front and autoleveling doesn't correct it, the line of ABS is narrower and doesn't stick the same as the front of the bedby randyf1965 - General Mendel Topics

How can I compile the latest Marlin firmware? I have downloaded and modified the Configuration.h file to match my hardware config but get all sorts of errors when I try to verify it. Installed a full graphics smart controller (128x64 lcd) and am printing a case for it, it appears the issue with my bed leveling is resolved but I will waiting until the back is printed. Should I have power cycled the ramps/arduino controller after updating the firmware? or does it do that on its own? I have enabled auto bed leveling using Marlin firmware (downloaded 4/24/14) and a servo mounted on the right front of my extruder. After doing a G29 it probes 4 spots on the bed ending up at the rear left of the bed. I do a G1 Z0 there and the extruder is at .1mm from the bed but it I move to the right edge of the bed it raises the extruder by .5mm. I have enabled auto bed leveling using Marlin firmware and a servo mounted on the right front of my extruder. After doing a G29 it probes 4 spots on the bed ending up at the rear left of the bed. I do a G1 Z0 there and the extruder is at .1mm from the bed but it I move to the right edge of the bed it raises the extruder by .5mm. I printed new Z axis couplers to see if they were slipping slightly. Standard deviation over 10 probings (G29): front left .036mm front right .019mm rear right .034mm rear left .025mm But the extruder is .6mm TOO low on the left and .3mm TOO high on the right!! Is the G29 the correct gcode for Marlin? what is planeNormal x: 0.02 y: -0.00 z: 1.00 ? After every G29 it is the samby randyf1965 - Printing

I adjusted the Y axis homing so the front left corner is home and still the right side of the bed has a larger extruder gap than the left. I see the z-axis steppers spinning as it moves from left to rightby randyf1965 - Printing

Would homing to to the wrong location cause this? I currently home to the left rear corner of the bed, which I am now seeing is wrong. I will change home to the front left corner and test when I get home. I recently switched from a Sangiunololu to a Ramps 1.4 and love the ramps compared to the Sanigunololu.by randyf1965 - Printing

I pulled the latest Marlin firmware and still the gap on the extruder is on the glass on the left side .1mm in the center and .3mm on the right. I do a G29 and have it probe 9 points on the bed then check the gap. Using Ramps 1.4 and Pronterface 2014.04.06 on a wooden frame Prusa i3 I have seen it work in videos but so far it doesn't hold up to the auto leveling name for me. #define ENABLE_AUby randyf1965 - Printing

The endstop switch changes state when activated? Check with multi-meter, either going from high to low (5v to 0v) or low to high (0v to 5v) or not at all.by randyf1965 - Printing

As I understand it. The extruder gap is measured with everything cold. After heating the extruder and bed there should be a ZERO gap. This allows the 1st layer height in the slicing software to be accurate.by randyf1965 - Printing

HAHAHA I learn a lot from my mistakes. So I had my 1st auto leveling point closer to the edge than my X offset. After changing the first point to 2mm MORE than my offset it works fine.by randyf1965 - Printing

I added a servo with a z-probe for auto leveling on my Prusa i3 and now the center of my heated bed is shifted off center after doing a G29. The G28 command using safe z homing centers the probe on the HPB but after doing a G29 the probe is 48mm off X (which is the offset) but the Y is off 40mm double the offset. Previously I was using the auto touch ends on my Z-Axis but the bearings on Z hangby randyf1965 - Printing
