Quotedc42 So what hot end temperatures have you tried? I'm using what I always did. That's what's so confusing. I was getting perfect prints from PLA. Now I get horrible prints. The temps ive tried are from 200-210. Bed temps are 55 for first layer and 50 for all others. I just don't see how it could be any of that because it used to work so well. I use the glue for adhesion.by fatesalign - Reprappers
I've tried both these settings: The second image is my normal settings.by fatesalign - Reprappers
I've tried every height I could think. Thank you though.by fatesalign - Reprappers
Well I only changed the temp is the issue. I went ahead and started back to default and that didn't even work.by fatesalign - Reprappers
If you look in the image, the problem is that it isn't shooting out the same amount of filament each time. It prints it wide then thin then wide then thin. I know it isn't too fast or anything because it worked perfectly before. I will say that I'm using a Chinese jhead, but I just don't understand.by fatesalign - Reprappers
The only issue is that it used to work with PLA, but now it isn't even with the same settings. The only thing I changed was I added a piece of cardboard between the aluminum and hot plate so it can get hot enough.by fatesalign - Reprappers
Hello everyone. My printer has been going like a champ for a few weeks now but since I put ABS in it, and even moved back to PLA, everything has been looking like this: I have no idea why. I thought maybe it could be that the extruder isn't clean, but when I manually extrude it with repetier host, it works fine. I'm just completely lost. I've tried everything I could think of. If anyone has anyby fatesalign - Reprappers
I just want to find the best plug and play duel extruder around.by fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a great duel extruder. And I was curious of your thoughts. I'm looking at the chimera, but I'm not sure if there are better options.by fatesalign - General
Thank you for the reply. Luckily I figured it out. The reason I assumed it was the motor was because one of my other motors went out and replacement fixed it.by fatesalign - General
I think I figured it out. The connector I'm using is not very good, and I don't believe it was getting a good connection. I wired up another one, and it's working like a charm.by fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. I'm really at my whits end with this 3d printer. Everything was working great the other day until, during a print, my x-axis motor started making a ton of noise. I went and checked, and it was just vibrating and turning ever so often, but still making a ton of noise. I assumed the motor was bad, so I ordered another one. Well, it came in today, and it's doing the exact same thing.by fatesalign - General
Thanks for all the replies everyone! I'm really glad for that review as well.by fatesalign - General
Thoughts?by fatesalign - General
What's up everyone. I thought I would share a good article about a really awesome inventor whose designed print heads for all Fdm printers that actually combine carbon fiber while extruded, can print up to 100 times faster and one that fixes the issue with layer adhesion. Just thought I would share, as I know a lot of people think FDM printers will be no more before long. There are simply some inby fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. So today, I stumbled across this: and really, I was curious what all of you thought. My question is really why it's necessary. If the water cooling could make the temps rise to like 500c, I'd like it, but it can only get up to 350c, yet the e3d v6, with a couple changed parts, can get up to 400c. Does it just mean it lasts longer or what? Just thought I'd start a conversation aboby fatesalign - General
That's the thing. I was thinking about not using kaptan tape. I just don't understand why it won't stick. I use the glue and 110c on an aluminum plate and 250c extrusion.by fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. I've been trying to print ABS, but it just won't stick. I've got the heated bed up to 110c. I read that kapton tape works, but I don't want to wait for it to be delivered. I'm using an aluminum bed, but would A glass bed be better? Also, should I drill holes in it to fit, or should I use those clips I see a lot of people use? Or should I just put the glass on top the aluminum andby fatesalign - General
QuoteVDX ... this 'metal-filled' filaments receives a big amount of shrinkage when fired, so not really suited for exact dimensions - but really usefull for jewelry or applications without need of accuracy ... I'll bet it would do that. It might be possible to learn by how much and make it bigger based on past experience. Won't be exact but pretty close.by fatesalign - General
So I was looking around and came across a filament that can be essentially made as strong as an injection molded metal part. After you print it, you have to have the plastic taken out and the metal melted in a furnace, but it seems incredible. What do you think?by fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. I've been wanting to find a way to make my prints look really smooth, and I've somewhat hit a snag. I want to be able to polish the colorfabb metal filament, which I know is usually done by rock tumblers, but I also want to be able to smooth out regular prints, which it seems a sand blaster is best for. My question is whether a rock tumbler will be able to smooth prints or if a saby fatesalign - General
Another thing I'm a little confused about is: Do I really need PTFE tubing? My current setup doesn't have any I don't believe. If it does, it's on the inside of it.by fatesalign - General
Oh wow. I didn't know you could get it without the heatsink. My printer actually has a heat-sink right above the hot end. Do you think I could actually purchase a legitimate e3d v6 without the hotend and it work? Should I include a picture?by fatesalign - General
Wow. I wonder if they'll ever make special filaments with ABS instead of PLA.by fatesalign - General
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew whether this was a good hot end or not: I was looking at the e3d, but it seems to be a huge pain to get that and do all the work to make it work well, while this looks like it works fine. Thanks for any ideas.by fatesalign - General
Thanks everyone! I was looking at getting an e3d v6, but it just doesn't seem I can find any simply mounts for my i3. They all look at least somewhat annoying to work with, so I found something similar to what I have. What do you think about this: Thanks for any info.by fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. Do you have any idea what's wrong with this hotend? It's oozing out filament.by fatesalign - General
When I posted, I wasn't aware there was a Repetier forum. Either way, I figured it out. For anyone curious, I had changed the baud rate, but I didn't know that it didn't change until I disconnected and reconnected,by fatesalign - General
Hello everyone. For some strange reason, repetier host has randomly quit working correctly. Just 5 minutes ago, it shows the correct temperature and everything, but now when I connect it to my printer, it doesn't show the heated bed, and it says the temp is 0, which it can't because because it's room temperature. The strange part is that the lcd is showing the right numbers, so my thermistor didnby fatesalign - General
