I see on the settings tab the file upload description has changed to "Here you can upload firmware, Duet WiFi and Duet Web Control files as well". So can I upload the DWC files like I do the firmware updates or is this a Duet Wifi only feature. I have the Duet 0.6. If I can upload do I need the .bin file for the DWC firmware or something else?by DADIY - Duet
I can't see any settings for canceling a print in the settings tab.by DADIY - Duet
I might be going crazy, but in previous releases when I canceled a print my hot end heater and bed would both be turned off (I don't have a cancel.g file), last night I canceled a failed print on the 1.16 firmware and the heaters did not turn off, looking at the release notes there doesn't appear to be any documented changes to that feature so wondered if that's a new change or I was just unluby DADIY - Duet
QuoteAndyKay Update on heatbed: I've been using it regularly to print ABS and it's been faultless. Kaptop tape on the metal and a small amount of ABS Juice wiped over with a tissue makes the prints stick every time. Very pleased with it. I think I'll give up on PLA! One question: could I run the printer without the fan on? I notice M107 Gcode has no effect, so I'm thinking of just unplugging iby DADIY - Fisher
I mostly use Slic3r and the Duet web interface and occasionally I use S3D and the web interface. I'm attaching my Fisher FFF profile - it may need tweaking for your own purposes especially as my Fisher is 345mm tall print volume but it's a start and I'm always tweaking it - never been 100% happy with S3D. My end gcode includes playing a few beeps you might want to remove that if you don't haveby DADIY - Fisher
I published my simple mod for the Fisher duct on Thingiverse this seals the standard part blower outlet and redirects the air sideways. It could certainly be improved but this should be enough to test the concept.by DADIY - Fisher
You must use the fan to cool the hot end but the fan ducts could be changed to divert the air away from the part being printed. I've been thinking of modifying the original solid works file to do this for mine.by DADIY - Fisher
I use this type of clip. Glass frame clip otherwise known as emo clips.by DADIY - Fisher
Keep an eye on the temperature you're extruding at, if this is too low or drops then you'll get this effect. I found my Fisher needs to print hotter than the filament suggests or I get these issues. Quotepixelseventy2 OK, so, the story so far... New motor, 1703HS168A, running at 1200mA. Extrusion acceleration at 1000 mm/s2. Retraction speed in slic3r 10 mm/s, length 3.4mm. New nozzle. Is that by design? I can only guess the latest version is more stable/faster at keeping the web interface connected which is why I've only just noticed it.by DADIY - Duet
After upgrading to 1.16 I've noticed that the M300 command no longer makes my PanelDue beep, but looking on the PanelDue console is shows {"beep_freq":500,"beep_length":250} pressing the buttons on the PanelDue screen still causes a beep to occur so I know that the pizo beeper is working.by DADIY - Duet
Smooth update on Duet 0.6. thanks to you both.by DADIY - Duet
I run the bed calibration every time I turn the printer on. Due to the homing switches you will always see a small amount of variation. Also I would recommend you increase the probing of the bed to the 6 point check it made a lot of difference on my fisher. The acrylic rods are junk, I really recommend you don't waste your time with them, even if you don't crash into anything they will fatiguby DADIY - Fisher
Im using 3mm carbon fibre rod from a kite shop and I dont think it needs to be any stiffer. I did need to use a 3mm drill bit to open the ends out a little to make room for the glue. Make sure you make up a little jig to hold them all the same length. I used a scrap piece of 2x4 and two 5.5mm drills. Once glues they slide over the drill tightly and I put some grease proof kitchen paper betweeby DADIY - Fisher
I got mine from eBay, and I see they are also available direct from the manufacturer. The other benefit (apart from reliability) is they are quieter than the acrylic.by DADIY - Fisher

Yes, you need to use Loctite or similar or they will come un done during use. I used calipers to set mine and it was very fiddly. When I built mine I had to file the threads to reduce some a little to get them correctly spaced. If I understand correctly the better these are set the better the prints will be. I'd also make a set of carbon fiber rods, the acrylic ones seem to fail almostby DADIY - Fisher
@dc42 - Great News. Thanks for the quick reply.by DADIY - Duet
There appears to be a mismatch between DWC 1.12 and Firmware 1.15e/1.16 on git hub. Basically, DWC is expecting to see in the firmware a cputemp and cputemp cur property but the firmware only sends these two properties for mcutemp and not cputemp. A quick fix for anyone who wants to restore the CPU temperature is to change /www/js/comm.js on their SD card to look at the mcutemp property. At liby DADIY - Duet
On my fisher I moved my fan connection to FAN0 and added M106 P0 T35 H1 to config.g. which causes the fan to run when ever the hot end is 35c or hotter. This goes agaisnt the orginal instructions which tell you not to connect to the FAN0- port and instead use the strip by the motor connections.by DADIY - Duet
Hi, I'm looking for any recommendations for scent free hairspray in the UK and where to buy it, I'm currently using Insette Extra Hold and it works very well but I'm allergic to the scent and could really do with finding an alternative. So far everything I've turned up is not easily available in the UK which makes me wonder if there is some ingredient that the EU has banned.by DADIY - General
For ABS I put a little masking tape under the fan duct and then put a cardboard enclosure around the machine to keep some heat in and avoid drafts, I'm still very much experimenting with ABS but have managed to print the gear bearing successfully.by DADIY - Fisher
You just need to download all the files to match the firwmware on your printer. The default files for emaker are on git hub here - I would download as zip from the next level up and then extract the contents of the sd-image directory to your SD card.by DADIY - Fisher
I think I have found the cause of my issue, the stepper motor drivers were overheating, reducing the current to them seems to have resolved the issue. I had increased it a little to get some iygus bushing to work nicely some time ago and this is the first time that the print time had been more than an hour since.by DADIY - Duet
Perfect! Expect is not a language I've ever had the need to use but I think I will install it on one of my debian boxes and give this a go could be very useful. EDIT: Just installed expect and set up your script, but I'm thinking of putting this in cron and letting it run every minute and then I will use boxcar to push a message to my iPhone/watch. But I don't want lots of telnets being runby DADIY - Duet
Nice solution, I think you might want to add a lock file so that you don't get multiple notifications, create it the first time the printing starts and remove it once printing finishes and you've sent the alert. Otherwise won't you just keep getting printing finished alerts?by DADIY - Duet
So after a few hours of printing everything just stopped, and this is the output from m122. Doesn't look like the board restarted. The only thing that looks high is the MCU temperature. Just thinking out loud. Could you connect one of the digital pins from the Duet header to the GPIO on the Pi and monitor it to go high from the Pi. Then add something like this to your end gcode. ;Set Pin high in end gcode. M42 P67 S1 ; Digial pin 67 on (physical pin 32 on header.) G4 P1000 ; wait 1000 msec (= 1 sec) M42 P67 S0 ; pin off There's a little binary on Pi for working with theby DADIY - Duet
I'm tempted to build one of these B'Struders, but I cannot find the springs anywhere. Did you find a source for those springs?by DADIY - Fisher
I used 3mm carbon fibre from a kite shop and the Mugen h0855 ends which will snap over the existing ball ends. The Mugen needed a little material removed with a 3mm drill bit and I used a simple jig to make sure they were all the same length. IIRC I used two 5.5mm drill bits to drill the holes at the correct width in some scrap wood and then pushed the drill bit in each hole. The assembled rodby DADIY - Fisher
