In case anyone else has this problem, I found the solution on another forum. Apparently the resisters were touching that caused some kind of short. Here is the picture from the other forum.by mlaustin66 - General Mendel Topics
I ran the M303 command to fine-tune PID parameters for the hotend and heatbed. The hotend seems to be doing fine. My heatbed is set to 85C. It keeps going up from that point. The recent print test print I did ended up at 104C. What would cause it to continually go higher? IIt's a silicone heatbed attached to a 3mm aluminum plate. The temperature rises as the printing starts. I'm using Repby mlaustin66 - General Mendel Topics
Ok, I think I resolved it. I was trying to do a cold run with the M302 command. While it said it was on, it wasn't working. So I heated up the hotted to 180 celsius and I was able to get the extruder working. Sucks being new to all this and feeling not so smart.by mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
So I went through all the stepper drivers and adjusted the polarity. It made a difference on the z axis, so thanks for pointing that out. The extruder it made no difference and neither did changing the extruder driver. Perhaps it is the board itself. Would that be the case? Here are my extruder setting outside of temperature. #define EXT0_X_OFFSET 0 #define EXT0_Y_OFFSET 0 #define EXT0_Z_OFby mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
Dust, thanks for the links. I will check them out. The firmware is configured. The extruder motor works because I plugged it into one of the other motor ports. All motors work except the extruder motor. I have another stepper driver I will try to see if it fixes it and post the results. The max extruder federate is set to 2. Regarding the LCD, I checked and 1 freaking pin wasn't connectedby mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
I just built a Prusa variant. I uploaded the repetier firmware. Using Repetier host I wanted to get the motors moving manually. The Z axis moves fine in .1 and 1 increments. In 10 increments, it freezes going down half way, makes a buzzing noise, and then stops. The extruder are not working. What could be causing these problem? Is it the RAMPS board, the stepper drivers, or something else?by mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hello, So I have my P3 steel variant built and am now down to the wiring. The particular build has a fan expansion board on the bill of materials, and I'm trying to figure out what to wire there. It is this module . The hotend fan has it's own mount. There are a few additional fans and accessories. Since it has 3 spots, I have an LED light and 2 print cooling fans. I see that print fans goby mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
I bought this frame . It doesn't have to be painted since it's galvanized.by mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
I'm going with the v2.5 frame because of the possibility of dual bowden extruders at some point. I want to make sure I have the rod sizes correct and especially the threaded rods because the size is the same on the BOM but the frame is 10mm taller. X axis = 385mm Y axis = 350mm Z axis = 330mm Threaded rod = 295mm according to wiki but shouldn't it be 305mm to account for the additional 10mm inby mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
That's good to know. I'm looking to get one in the next month. Thanks.by mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
RRuser I am interested in the Createc printer. How has it been working out for you? What other companies did you look at?by mlaustin66 - Prusa i3 and variants
