Yes looks like Java cannot find the rxtx libs I can replicate this error if I move RXTXcomm.jar out of ...lib\ext\ I presume you are using windows, double check all the three required rxtx files are in the correct place had a problem in the past, not reprap related, with more than one version of the JRE on the same machine not sure if this is the case here

If you end up making your own platforms you can use angle iron/alu instead of channel, should reduce the cost of the rails by about half.

From the bottom of this thread "most of the pieces should be 1/4" thick. there is one piece that should be 1/2" thick which is the 'vertical base' part."

You can use the MYRIAD 3D Reader to get dimensions off the .stl files This may be what you are looking for but its 8 months old so some parts may have changed There is also a zip file somewhere on the forum called converted+files.zip cant remember where, it has all the parts in .igs format
