Hi Filip, I am Mike from MakersToolWorks, AKA MAabots, the designer of the Mendelmax series of printers. Sorry you had problems with our phones today, we had some odd issues. I will PM you with a phone number where you can call me directly to avoid the voicemail tree. To answer your question, though, yes at present we have kits in stock. If you ordered today, your kit would ship out on Monday.by kludgineer - General

True, but almost everyone runs at 1/16 step mode with 200 step/rev motors, so I was basing my numbers on those values. It is possible to increase the resolution by using 400 step/rev motors or by using drivers that support 1/32 step mode, but that will trade max speed for resolution. Of course using a lower step mode or motors with fewer steps will decrease these values, but almost no one does anby kludgineer - General
The main benefits compared to the MM1.5 are a slightly larger build area (especially in Z), much easier assembly, and a more visually open design. "Resolution" of any RepRap is determined entirely by the pulleys and lead screws you use. Since pulleys and lead screws will vary depending on who buys and builds the printer, I can only speak to the capabilities of the kits that we will be selling aby kludgineer - General
Edit: I am Maxbots, the Designer of the MendelMax The goal of the MendelMax 2.0 is to be fully printable, but to require no printing (or at least as little as possible). I guess it depends on what you consider the "RepRap idea". If you define that the traditional way, as "A printable 3d printer", then you are incorrect, the MendelMax 2.0 remains just as printable as past MendelMaxes. If on theby kludgineer - General
We have basically came to the same conclusion that the Y axis is over-constrained. It has a small amount of float built in to the Y shaft mount, but it is not enough to overcome the problems, and increasing the float causes enough looseness in the axis that it effects print quality. This has been tough to solve, because, apparently through sheer luck, my prototype of this Y axis worked brilliantlby kludgineer - General
Also, while the MendelMax printer is opensource, please include verbiage on your site saying that you are not affiliated with MendelMax.com. Also, you should use your own photo of the MendelMax, It is just lazy to use mine.by kludgineer - For Sale

Hi Johnny, A couple thoughts... First, as others have noted, quality is everything. If you cannot deliver good quality, than everything else is irrelevant. I know you have addressed this already, but the point cannot be stressed enough. My suggestion: Specify your tolerances and offer a money back guarantee for filament that is outside of that tolerance. This is an easily quantifiable standardby kludgineer - General
One other thought... I would also add one additional rule that may be unmanageable, but I think should be in place: For designs from a specific seller, we need some system to remove sellers that get a bad reputation in the community. Otherwise I foresee people creating new printers, starting a web shop, collecting a bunch of money than not delivering the goods... Under the current system, we couby kludgineer - General
To my mind, we should have two concepts that I will call Designs and Variants. A Variant is a printer where the majority of parts can be swapped with the printer that inspired it. For example, for all practical purposes all stock Prusa parts can be used on a MG Prusa, and vice versa. The same is not true of the MendelMax. It was inspired by the Prusa, but is a fundamentally new design. Certainlyby kludgineer - General

Interestingly, as Joaz just pointed out in the IRC channel, not only is the use of the RepRap.com domain deceitful, it is 100% in violation of the RepRap license terms. Per the terms of the license (http://reprap.org/wiki/RepRapGPLLicence), the name RepRap can be freely used, but it CANNOT be trademarked. Well, look what Joaz found:by kludgineer - General

Lol, nobody bought reprap.com because no one was dumb enough to think it was a good idea to try to usurp the RepRap brand for their own personal gain. Madkite: I understand your frustration completely, finding the best information can be VERY difficult in this community. The Wiki is full of flawed and often contradictory information (assuming you can find what you are looking for at all), and finding the info on Google can be just as bad.
