I ordrered my Axis kit back in early March if I remember correctly. It took several emails to get a straight response. Keep pressing them. You'd honestly be better -Glup- getting a Thing-o-matic prebuilt. THAT WAS A HARD PHRASE TO TYPE. But their bots "Just Work" as they say. It's expensive at $2500 but I easily have that much into new tools and equipment just to get a $600 Prusa Mendel built.by MrJohn - General

Ordered a PTFE barrel and brass nozzle since the last one they sent me broke already. No confirmation emails from botmill, just the invoice from paypal. Emailed them asking fro updates.by MrJohn - General
To help some people asking for help, I offer this quick start guide to get calibrated. I will eventually put this in the wiki once it's all worked out and proven, and peer reviewed. From the wiki- I have tried this method but it seems unreliable for me. Either due to sloppy z creating inconsistent measuring points, or backlash giving bad prints to start with. This is my method. I am currently moving into a new place and finally have the space to make a decent work station. Here is a photo of my previous bench, just an Ikea table half open. Show off your bench and give others some good ideas on how to get this beast under control.by MrJohn - General
From what I can gather, getting e steps per mm right for the extruder, finding the right temps and retract, using CLIP and JITTER, seem to eliminate the blobs on one corner. It's also due to the size of that test piece being so small. If I could a fix out of thin air it would be Z up in flight. Meaning the Z would rise while the x or y is still moving.by MrJohn - General Mendel Topics
Did you have to change your USB's speed as well as the Firmware and Repsnapper (or whatever your host is) baud rate? I'm having the same problem at 19200 and I haven't found a good connection at a higher rate. I have, however lowered it to 9600 because my USB speed is set at that and if I try to change that to match a high baud rate it doesn't connect. -Win7, repsnapper, Gen6, SF40by MrJohn - Controllers

This pulley is from basic default settings in SF40. I made a few changes that I could remember off the top of my head.by MrJohn - General
Ok I think I've worked out the repsnapper crashing problem. I deleted both that and SF40 and reinstalled both fresh. Tested the preloaded pulleys gcode that comes with the prusa stls and that worked. Then ran the pulleys.stl through the new install of SF40 and that works as well. Just need to reset all my SF40 settings again. I'm glad I was documenting all the settings as I went along. I can load previously know goode gcodes into repsnapper fine. It's only newly generated codes that crash.by MrJohn - Skeinforge
That's the version I've been using.by MrJohn - General
I've recently run into a problem of all my newly sliced gcode crash Repsnapper. I've tried uploading other known good gcodes and it works fine. But all the gcodes I just created tonight force close repsnapper. I've tried uninstalling sf40 and starting fresh untouched settings and same thing. Same with sf41. Help!by MrJohn - Skeinforge
Ahhh! I hate this. I am losing my patience. I made changes to skeinforge 40 and now any newly sliced stl's gcode will not load into repsnapper. I get a popup window saying the program has stopped working and is looking for a solution. Then it does not find a solution and orders me to close the program. This does NOT happen for gcodes I generated before tonight. I deleted my current SF40 and reinsby MrJohn - General

I believed this problem has been fixed by lowering my firmware and repsnapper's baud speed to 9600. Since then I have seen zero pauses. In the gcode I still see the error of serial error but the print keeps moving, so I'm happy.by MrJohn - General
I can't seem to find the sweet spot for SF40 so I have made a test print with photos and linked a Google docs spreadsheet showing the settings I've used. My hope is that someone can help me understand how to tweak the settings to a desired result. I've tried researching all the plugins myself and I have found the documentation for this software extremely lacking. I can't understand how someoneby MrJohn - General
No, I'm using the mendel-parts.com firmware. I think I've fixed it. I tried all these with test prints of a rod clamp in between. I removed my USB cable from my cable bundle to see if it was interference from them. No. Swapped out cables. No. Lowered the buffer size from the Repsnapper settings. No. Increased the buffer size. No. Changed the firmware to increase the "Speed" or baud rate toby MrJohn - General
This is the gcode I get when it stops. Send >>Received: Serial Error:Recieved a LineNr code without a Checksum code or Checksum without LineNr Send >>Received: Resend:1356 with parameter 1356by MrJohn - General
PrusaJr helped me from the IRC. He suggested turning retract speed down from 27 to 15 and retract distance from 3 to 1mm. Set extra restart distance from -0.5 to 0.0. It didn't completely stop the pausing, still had several but the print looked much better. I'm considering swtiching my firmware to Sprinter if I can figure out how to install it correctly.by MrJohn - General
Oozebane is off, I haven't messed with repsnappers settings since I've started using SF40. Baud rate is 19200. I've tried 115200 as suggested in the IRC wouldn't connect to the printer. Played with it some more to negative results. So I just went back to the default.by MrJohn - General
Gen6 with firmware from mendel-parts. Repsnapper by Kulitorum and a Windows 7 machine. Slicing with SF40.by MrJohn - General
Sometimes on my medium or large prints the machine just stops. Long, long pauses. So long it melts the lower layers. Sometimes I have to click on the repsnapper window and it re-starts. Other times I have to hit the kick button on the print page. I've tried using the unpause feature in Skeinforge 40 and it's still happening. I have recorded several videos of it on Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/cby MrJohn - General
Hello All, I've started getting deep into Skeinforge 40 I am wondering, is there supposed to be a one perfect settings profile that I am supposed to use for all the Prusa Mendel parts? By which I mean if I were to do a single plate print of all the parts, they would all have to be sliced using the same settings. Versus individually slicing each part with setting optimized just for that part. Fby MrJohn - General
