Hi PeterC,
I am still busy building the RepStrap, it's not yet complete. (so I haven't made anything with it either)
I have all the electronics - mostly made - I blew a stepper driver board and need to make 3 or 4 more opto end stops.
Then the places to mount the opto end stops needs some work...
I should have it completed mid June, then I can start building things. Ill post about it when

Hi Sid,
Is there a version of the stepper driver & all the electronics that is single sided with through hole components. I am trying to make my own PCB's...
I could try take the schematic & make my own board layout, but it would be really nice to have a version that has already been done.
thanks

Hey all,
yesterday I completed the mechanical parts for my McWire RepStrap. I'm very excited.
Follow my blog for my full build experience.
I had a bit of a hard time converting the imperial measurements to metric. I will try write up a BOM with only metric parts. I found that you could mostly substitute the original parts for anything similar.
Now its back to etching PCB's with ferric chlorid

Hey NewPerfection,
SNAP! I also have been following the reprap project for a while now & have decided now is the time to get involved! I was a bit of a pain when everything closed here in the December period but now that it is January I have made some decent progress!
I'd be interested on seeing your progress as you go along as well...

Yes I agree! the sizes of the acrylic or perspex are not shown... I used a 5mm thickness of perspex... printed the PDF stickers & used a jigsaw to cut them... a power drill to drill, since I don't yet have a drill press. I think my dad has ordered me a "drill press clone"... you stick a standard power drill in it & it used gears & other mechanical things to achieve the same results.
