You don't need end stop if you tell the printer that the current position is a given point relative to the origin.
e.g. you can tell you are at 250mm over the bed with:
G92 X0 Y0 Z250 ; defines the position when homed - required while there is no endstops
have a look at the wiki page: RepRap Firmware macros#Homing without end switches

The inductance of 42BYGHM809 is 4 mH, while it is 3mH for the 609.
4mH is not huge, and with a nominal current of 1.68A, you may use 1.5A with well cooled drivers (best is integral board or at least 4 layers independant drivers with good cooling - Pololu black edition).
But the big problem here is a 0.9° stepper need twice the steps for the same speed. That is roughly as if you want to run a 1

Yes, but the DRV8825 chip is known to have a minimum on time three time larger than the A4988/A4982, driving to current overflow with low inductance steppers (low inductance stepper are desirable). That was the reason of my comment not to use/refer to 8825.
Tinyboy is using Allegro A4988 chips. With shorter minimum on-time, in principle A4988 don't have any problem with common Nema17 steppers,

There is something important to note, this equipment is supposed to be installed on the Tinyboy printer, which does have very small steppers, nothing comparable to any other printer. This is a quite special configuration and there may be specific problems.
What could be the net effect of diodes ? adding forward voltage ? but as you underline, if they are on the main coil, they prevent it workin

Hum. Hum.
Till we have some technical details how it does work, that shall be considered as a lotion to have hair growing back on bald head.
If stepper are adjusted to 1/16 microstep and a driver known to work without ripple (say NOT a 8825), you may have ripple, but not as large as shown.
If you have ripple linked to the board stepping, it is time to change firmware for a better one, or even u

You mean M571 and not M572 (indeed you link to M571) ? which may turn on a laser or a router.
It is indicated in the wiki that M571 turn on an output, but what output ? How is it designated ?
If using a controlled fan output, is it still possible to define parameters (and notably PWM frequency) with M106 ?
M572 may be the best for a laser, as laser start instantly, but for a router, you shall

I assume your question is about steppers for extruder, not for movement ?
This stepper is good for a direct drive extruder, however, if you want to install three flying extruder for a diamond hot end, you want to limit the weight and direct drive extruders are not a good option. If these extruder are fixed with three Bowden tubes, this is ok, and the simplest.
For flying extruders, you shall s

Looking the M563 command, the example refer to drive 0:5 and 6, but I don't understand, as if the drive references are taken after the X,Y and Z, there is no drive 6, as there is a maximum of 6 extruder drives (2 on the Duet 0.8.5 and 4 on the Duex 4) so last drive shall be D5 ?
In the code extract listed in the referenced thread, there is indeed a total of 9 drives.

Doug, you are right, but I think I know where the problem came from.
I listed the drive number as such in the G-Code page :
0; 1:Y; 2:Z; 3:E0; 4:E1; 5:E2; 6:E3; 7:E4; 8:E5
This order does not apply for M563, so what I have written is wrong
This is the drive order in Firmware, which may apply for pin number understanding and for M569
That drive order refers to this thread and that was import

I added schematics for the Duet 0.6 on the Duet wiring page.
I have not done Z-probe connection schema for analog sensors, but I think David supply schematic for his own sensor.
RRP machines with IR sensors were supplied with looms, so there is no point working on that.
A generic schematic for Z-probe analog sensor may be useful.

Octoprint and DWC are completely different beasts.
Octoprint is a set of python programs running on a computer, including a web server. It so can integrates with others program as with Cura (a C++ program) and served it to any device, so it does need some computing power to run python and slicer.
DWC is a web application in JavaScript, which run at 100% in your browser. The Web server is in the
