QuoteJMC I think diffrent filiment may have diffrent optimal settings. the first bach that came with the printer worked best at 180C with a bed temp of 60C but this latest roll needs at least 195C to stick and im still trying to find the best bed temp. I used 195 as well for it to stick on the mirror.by urbanzakapa - Ormerod
Quoteredblunt at the beginning i printed with 200 / 65 °C now im down to 193 / 60. well about the printing speed the quicker you are the more it will be sloppy. so if you have lots of time go down to 5mm/s :-) usualy i do perimeters with 35 mm/s and they look fine. the print quality is also defined by your model - i noticed if there are to much lines (normals) in there slic3r will think therby urbanzakapa - Ormerod
Guys, Anyone knows what are the best extruder speed, extruder feedrate, bed temperature and hot end temperature that can give out a better print quality? I have been cramming this stuff for quite a while. Hopefully any expert out there will give some ideas. n/b: I use PLA and wade extruder. Thanks.by urbanzakapa - Ormerod

Guys, When I tried to print the PLA, it seemed like the PLA didn't stick to the mirror. The PLA just oozed out and coiled up at the nozzle in which I think it supposed to be smooth line whenever the PLA is extruded out from the extruder (am I right about this?) . So I'm not sure what modifications can be done to make it stick on the mirror. Btw, I've already layered the mirror with Kapton tape,by urbanzakapa - Ormerod
Quotedmould Quoteurbanzakapa Guys, Does the print product of the Prusa Mendel i2 suppose to have base layer? For my case, the printer seems like want to print the base layer but there is no extruded PLA came out. Quote3dkarma Make sure your extruder stepper motor is wired up correctly. If it is, you can either reverse it in the firmware or reverse the wiring. Guide to stepper wiring (including reversing). Thanks, works fine.by urbanzakapa - RepRap Host

Guys, I have a problem with my extruder and reverse settings in my pronterface. When I try to extrude the PLA, it start to pull it out from the extruder and when I click 'reverse' it extrudes the PLA. To make it simple, it likes both function is swapped. So, is there any way that I can make sure that both 'extrude' and 'reverse' settings works fine in which when I asks the machine to extrude, itby urbanzakapa - RepRap Host
QuoteIstale I know it's a pain, but re-check your wiring again. Be sure no pins are loose in the connectors, etc.. How are you trying to spin the motor? By grabbing the motor pin or by moving the printer axis? Belt could be too tight or something like that? When I had problems with the motors making noise and not moving it was my wiring. Quotewaitaki If you disconnect power to the printer, can you then move the Y carriage easily? If so, then the lock-up you are experiencing is normal when it is powered up. I.e. if you command the Y axis to move (and you say it doesn't) then it will feel locked up. If you then press the "Motors Off" button in Pronterface, it will release all motors. Ok, so now check your V ref on the stepper drivby urbanzakapa - Reprappers
Quotewaitaki Yes, 3 for each motor driver for 1/16 microstepping. If you have stepstick drivers, set them to 0.8v and see how that goes. What's the current situation with the printer? I just found out what is the jumpers, and gonna fit them on the RAMPS 1.4 later.by urbanzakapa - Reprappers
Hi, I built a Prusa Mendel recently but the Y axis motor doesn't move at all and just made a buzz sound; vibrate on its place only. But, when I try to spin the motor manually without connected to the pronterface, the motor seems to stiff to rotate. Does my problem related to the stiffness of the motor rotation and if yes how can I solve it? Or do I need to increase anything like current, voltage,by urbanzakapa - Reprappers

I set to 0.7++ for every motors and I changed the stepper driver for X-axis which didn't give any response before and it works just fine. Quote3dkarma Have you set the vref on the stepper drivers? If they are under-volted they won't move. Have you set the steps per mm for each axis and the extruder in the firmware? Hi, I got a really hellish problem. After I connected the pronterface to my prusa mendel, I tried to click every home button(X,Y, and Z axis). But there are no moves from the motors except only a tiny sound came out from the Y axis motor. Any solution for that?by urbanzakapa - Reprappers

When I want to connect it, it stays at 'connecting..' and from the manual it is supposed to pop-out words 'the printer is now online' but unfortunately it stays at 'connecting'.
