I currently am running a highly modified version of marlin firmware with a megatronics v2.0 controller ..Wanting to switch over to using ugs platform as it has keyboard jogging features and other things that would be nice to have with my machine..I am wondering if anyone has used universal g code sender with marlin firmware or does it only work with unmodified grbl ?by tm america - Firmware - Marlin

Hello and thanks in advance .I am using an old version of marlin with a megatronics v2.0.I am looking to add jog buttons for the z axis using a reastat for speed control. ..I would need to them to override the gcode and move the z axis in more of a real time instead of buffered..I know my code will need to look similar to the code listed on the big easy driver page for two or three button stepperby tm america - Firmware - Marlin
I have been running Repetier host for yrs on my machines without issues.. i added a plate marker option to this last machine and the problems start..It works great if running a g code for plasma .but if i run a g code for plate marking it tries to reset the printer mid print and locks the machine up..Then i have to do an estop to make the machine move again..When it acts up it either sends someby tm america - RepRap Host
Quotekugo I am building a 1m x1m printer unit using lead screws and nema 23's. My design calls for 2 motors per axis running in tandem in parallel (which by way of wiring them in parallel would apparently be too much load for the drivers). And of course there is the option to wire in series like most people out there seem to suggest and just spread the work load on the motors but this I'm guessinby tm america - General
I have been trying to figure out a couple issues i was having running additional case and digitalWrite or analogWrite with marlin firmware so i decided to try the latest repetier firmware..I am running both repetier host and repetier firmware..Here is the issue i am having.I added the part to the firmware to enable the fan2 so now if i send a m106-m107 or m806-m807 manually from repetier host theby tm america - Repetier
I have been really working to try to get this issue fixed..This is what i know so far..First the problem lies in the firmware.I put the files that were messing up on a sd card and they did the same thing as running from repetier host .So this eliminates it being a problem with how repetier is sending the g code..Second it is not a problem with the g code or post processor..I do know it is a problby tm america - General
I am beginning to think the problem lies in repetier host.i downloaded the latest marlin firmware and latest arduino ide and it is still doing the same thing i even changed the case for the m106 and m107 to the m95 and m96 and it did the same thing..this is really interesting as the m106 and m107 worked fine before with how the relay and wiring were done.i just changed which g code runs the sameby tm america - General
This is the relay i am running when using the d57 pin..it has leds for the vcc and in and other resistors..I would think when running this type of relay you would not need any other diodes or resistors?by tm america - General
I downloaded and installed the latest marlin firmware and it still doing the same thing the d8-heat bed is acting crazy it is on when it should be off and off when it should be on and sometimes it is right.. it is doing the same thing it did with the previous firmware ..It messes up in exactly the same way in the same places..Maybe the issue is in repetier host??Maybe it is not sending what it isby tm america - General
Even running it on the d8 which goes runs a mosfet it does the same thing..The more i think about it the more i am thinking somehow my marlin file must be corrupt? Why does it do the same thing on the d8 as it does on the d57 since they are being controlled totally differently. The d57 is a simple off-on while the d8 is being used as if it were a heated bed with only one change to the stuff that cby tm america - General
ok so i decided to just turn the thc off and on with the d8 using the m140 s150 and m140 s0 just like it would be if i had a heated bed hooked up i put a 100k thermistor that is reading between 26 and 30 depending on the shop temps? i do not have the watchdogs enabled in the firmware and i set the bed check interval to 100 instead of 5000 .. and it is acting up just like ti did when i was controlby tm america - General
I tried doing it as a digitalwrite high and digitalwrite low..for some reason it didnt work..i will spend some more time working with it ?for now i just ended up putting it on the d8 and changed the time between temp chaecks to 50msand put a thermistor on it to fool it into thinking i am running a heated bed and it works nice..but i wanna go the other way with it but for now i have things thingsby tm america - General
ok so here is what i am having an issue with..I programmed pin d57 to turn off the torch height controller and turn it back on ..I set m95 to turn it on and m96 to turn it off..I am using a low active relay..So m95 turns pin d57 to 0 and m96 turns pin d57 to 255.. This works great when just manually typing the m95 or m96 into repetier.. And it works great for the first minute or soo when actuallyby tm america - General
i have been working on doing the same thing you can basically copy and paste all the parts for the y axis dual extruders in the firmware and then change the y to x and you should be good .. just have to make sure you do it for everything used for the y axis dual extruders as it is in several different sections..I must say i am not sure why this is not standard in the marlin firmware ?Seems to meby tm america - General
Quotecat.farmer Being a PC repair guy, my first thought was maybe it is just a dirty USB connection. It sounds like it / they worked for an extended period, and started to just recently fail? If it were EMI, I would expect that to show up quickly, unless something has changed in the surroundings. By putting a new PC in place and the problem goes away, just enforces that that thought.by tm america - General
Quotedc42 The usual culprit for this sort of disconnection is current transients in the ground loop that is formed when you connect the 3D printer (or in your case the plasma cutter) to a PC through a USB cable. To mitigate the problem, my usual advice is to power the PC and printer and nothing else from the same power distribution block, and use a USB cable with a ferrite bead on it. For several yrs now have been using arduino mega 2560 with ramps 1.4 for cnc plasma machine.just recently i have had a few loss of connection issues while actually cuting..When the plasma cutter is not on things work perfect then when the cutter is on it will do the first couple of cuts then freeze up.These are not high frequency start.. the cutters are blow back start made specially for cnc cutby tm america - General
Ok so i am having some new issues ..I can't get the reprap discount smart controller to work with my ramps 1.4 using marlin firmware with motherboard 33 selected..It compiles and uploads just the lcd doesnt work..I can get the ramps 1.4 to work with a full graphic smart controller and i can get the reprap discount smart controller to work with a megatronics v2.0 ..So i know the hardware is good..by tm america - General
Ok decided to go a different way with that kept the part i added in the pins h but put this in the marlin main ccp....... #if THC_PIN > -1 case 95: //M95 thc On analogWrite(57, 0); break; case 96: //M96 thc Off if (code_seen('S')){ analogWrite(57, constrain(code_value(),0,255));} //D57 is thc_pin as in pins.h else { analogWrite(57, 255);by tm america - General

I am working on adding some relays to my arduino mega 2560-ramps 1.4 with marlin firmware i basically did a copy and paste ot the case 106 and case 107 section changed things to thc instead of fan and added the THC_PIN in the pins h here is what i have and i an getting errors for thc speed not declared in this scope ..Where do i declare the thc speed like i would the fan speed?I know i will needby tm america - General

Ok after some more looking at the schematics i think i have it figured out ..Looks like i use the A-out pins on the megatronics v2.0..with a 1k and 680 ohm resistor like i would if i were using the ramps 1.4by tm america - General
Ok so i am thinking of switching to megatronics v2.0 on my machines.Looking at the schematic i am a little confused on how to wire in the HC-06 bluetooth module to the megatronics v2.0 as the megatronics has two chips for the logic looks like there is one for the usb and one for the sd card?On the ramps 1.4 it wires into the txd and rxd and 5volt power and ground but i am not sure if i can use thby tm america - General
Viktor you are right inline with what i am looking to do.. i was wanting at add a scanning feature to repetier similar to scannything that uses a webcam or usb microscope....Right now i need to get the keyboard jogging working so i can use a mini wireless keyboard to jog the machineby tm america - General
I tried using pronterface for my machines but it will not work as i am using them for cnc plasma cutting and proterface doesn't send the commands unless it sees layers.. So since the total extrusion is 0 for my applications it doesn't send the gcode to the machineby tm america - General
I must be missing something I still am unable to get this to work I am currently trying to install the cnc plug in on repetier host v1.5.6 ..I copy and pasted the dll file to repetier host in the program files and under plug ins in program files it was not locked..The computer I am trying this with is a win8.1 I will try it on my win 7 computer if it will fix the issue?Has anyone had luck instaby tm america - General
