Thanks John I had the same problem in version 13 which your information solved. What really puzzles me is that "byte" is defined in wiring.h and as far as I can see wiring.h is not included anywhere. BUT the second error reports "word" as a duplicate in wiring.h and commenting it out solves the problem. So if wiring is included why is the "byte" definition in wiring ignored? This really puzzleby emt - RepRap Host
You did actually change the names when you copied? They don't show in your screen shot. I use Windows so it might be different but I replicated your problem using the download and then fixed the problem by renaming the files from ????.h.dist to ????.h ie deleting the .distby emt - Controllers
Hi Did you miss this step in the instructons? "Copy the files extruder.h.dist, parameters.h.dist and pins.h.dist to extruder.h, parameters.h and pins.h. These are your local copies that you will configure to your particular RepRap machine."by emt - Controllers

Did you delete the Arduino object files before you recompiled? If not the changed file is not compiled.by emt - Controllers
Hi Enrique Thanks, I should have realised that myself. Spent too much time in front of the PC. Just to confirm. If I always want the extruder to shut off early "Minimum Distance for Early Shutdown over Extrusion Width (ratio): " should be 0 and the distance is set by "Shutdown Distance over Extrusion Width (ratio):" as you stated in your message. if I dont want the extruder to start before theby emt - Skeinforge
Hi Mine might be the same. I am getting a big blob where a thread starts & stops which I think comes after extruder motor switch off. I have noticed my extruder motor takes some time to stop. My plan was to switch off miles early so I get a deficit of material and then slowly shorten the time until I get a good result. My heater may be acting differently to the norm. I have had several thatby emt - Skeinforge
Hi Enrique I am having a little trouble understanding oozebane. The preferences in the help file I have don't seem to match the preferences you can change. I am trying to increase the distance that the extruder shuts down before the end of a thread. Which preference now controls that? I also need to reduce or remove the time the extruder starts the thread. My extruder seems to start extruding inby emt - Skeinforge
Hi Enrique Once again many thanks, I use Skeinforge on my main PC and the PC running my Repstrap. I had to delete and reinstall on Repstrap PC to get it working cleanly. On the main PC when I use a help button firefox comes up instantly with the help but on the Repstrap PC it takes ages, upwards of 20 seconds. Any idea why that might be?by emt - Skeinforge
Hi I downloaded the Jan 16th version. Hitting Carve button no longer generates an error but now the Slice generates an error:- C:\PyTools>python skeinforge.py Exception in Tkinter callback Traceback (most recent call last): File "c:\python25\lib\lib-tk\Tkinter.py", line 1403, in __call__ return self.func(*args) File "C:\PyTools\skeinforge_tools\skeinforge_utilities\preferences.py",by emt - Skeinforge
Hi Enrique Using the January 5th version if I hit Carve button I get the following in the command window. Am I doing something wrong or have I screwed up my preferences? C:\PyTools>python skeinforge.py Exception in Tkinter callback Traceback (most recent call last): File "c:\python25\lib\lib-tk\Tkinter.py", line 1403, in __call__ return self.func(*args) File "C:\PyTools\skeinforge_tby emt - Skeinforge
Hi I am using Mach3 with the Smoothstepper USB connection. My machine is a CNC with Gecko drives. I use a Sanguino with the G code firmware BUT only for extruder/heater control M functions. The axis commands are handled by the Mach Smoothstepper interface. I wrote a couple of simple macros for Mach3 which has a built in serial interface to communicate with the Sanguino.by emt - General
Which are you using, Thermistor or Thermocouple? Did you change the defines in thermistortable.h to match your setup?by emt - RepRap Host
Hi I only know a little about Windows. At one time you could only use Arduino 011, O12 gave errors. I don't know if that is still the case. Have you read the info here?by emt - RepRap Host
Hi I would be interested in a Blog of what works or not on the BfB extruder.by emt - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi You have selected Sanguino as the board type? You said Diecemilla in your first post.by emt - Controllers
First you have to follow the software set up instructions on the Sanguino web site. You will then be able to select the Sanguino as the board type. If you are using the latest firmware release from the SVN you may well find you then get a different error on compile. To get round this at the moment use Arduino 0011. At this stage you should get a clean compile. You may then find you cannot downby emt - Controllers
Hi The latest pin assignments are in the attached file. They have changed and there is an incorrect spreadsheet file in the SVN. I guess they may change again so don't cast anything in stone.by emt - Controllers
I think those codes were used by Skeinforge to pass instructions as code was processed by the tool chain. I guess they have all been eliminated as Enrique has refined the software.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi There are Linux instructions here:- There are no Windows instructions but if you use the procedure outlined for Linux but use the equivalent Windows command where required you should be OK. I assume as you are familiar with compiling you will be able to figure out what is required. There is windows information here:-by emt - RepRap Host
Hi I have added a little more detail in the Builders Wiki on port setting.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi In Windows you need to find the com port number your USB is using - In settings and device manager. If it is 1 for example you need to change settings to:- Port(name)=COM1 Note it must be in CAPS.by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Wade Could you let me have a copy your skeinforge preferences when you have done the final tweaks.by emt - General
Hi I ended up buying the PCB's from RRF. I then had to buy some components from there as well as I could not obtain them in small quantities in the UK. So your best bet may be to just buy the Kits from RRF. The parts I have ordered always arrive promptly using US post.by emt - Controllers
Hi Enrique I am still not getting hop where I expect it after the raft so I have sent the files requested direct to your email. It maybe my expectation is the problem!by emt - RepRap Host
Hi Enrique I just realised that I am not getting temperature time delay between layers. Should there be a delay regardless of temperature settings? If this may be caused by the options I have activated let me know and I will send a copy of my preferences.by emt - RepRap Host
