Ok Steve, I'll ahve a look at that and see if it fixes it. THanksby redskinsjbs - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Its already there. I have used it myself. Good looking out though!by redskinsjbs - Reprappers
So I'm ready to print, I just have to fiddle around with the software, and now my Z-axis wont move via the belt. The motor works, and all of the threaded rods moved freely when the stage was not placed on top of them. Heres a list of causes that I have looked at and I think that I have okayed: * The locking nuts that surround the corner bracket are not locked to the corner bracket * The Bed Coby redskinsjbs - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Are you using the SNAP firmware or the G code Firmware? I ask because the G code firmware is much smaller than the SNAP, and if updating the versions of the build tools takes up that so much more volume with the G code that the firmware won't fit, I tend to think that therein lies your problem. And if you are using the SNAP, i understand the concern because the versions I have seen leave about 20by redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Good meeting today guys. I'll work on the Darwin in the morning.by redskinsjbs - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Hey Guys, I found this plastics site, and I figured that they are are a good plastics resource for the US. I don't know how the prices are, but they look ok to me. What I was wondering is that I understand that nophead has been able to get reasonable success by using a cutting board as a sacrificial stage. Is there any suggestions one may have about how thick the sacrificial plastic cover shouby redskinsjbs - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I am always seeding that, so I don't know what the problem might be.by redskinsjbs - General
nophead-- How do you prevent your filament from twisting? Is the real able to twist in some way? Please explain because I have sorting through this dilemma right now.by redskinsjbs - Reprappers
I've gone to a local brick yard and they have let me put some pots in with their bricks, so if that seems sensible for your area...by redskinsjbs - Paste Extrusion Working Group
not exactly. I mean there are pots, i think that they are coined earthware, where the clay just air dries. Wha makes the ceramics hard is that they become partially glass after firing, and any glazes are completely glass. If you were to say, create a heater barrel out of ceramics, all you have to do is wrap the clay in whatever you are going to be using to heat it and heat it. Hey guys I might be able to make it to the meeting next weekend on account that my spring break starts then. WooHoo!!! But I was wondering if any of you guys knew much about working with Ubuntu? The reason I ask is that I want to get Ubuntu and the reprap software working on both my normal laptop and my asus eee. I've been able to successfully install Ubuntu on my normal laptop, and I've triedby redskinsjbs - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Hey guys, I just did a basic search on YouTube. Have a lookby redskinsjbs - Paste Extrusion Working Group
Zach~ No worries. I'll go through the problems I'm having and send a list of them out onto the ubuntu forums, then I'll send you that and maybe you can do something with it. All we can fairly ask of you is to do what you can. I mean, I don't think that anybody in this community can possibly say that your not working hard enough.by redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
What about if we let the arduino use a flash fob (Thumbdirve) as a larger cache. I understand that this could only be implemented in a 2 arduino setup, but you would be able to load immense amounts of g-code onto the thumbdrivesby redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Hey Zach, I think that the Ubuntu site should really be updated, but more to the point, I think that it should be explained a lot more thoroughly. I don't have much of an idea as to what I'm doing on Ubuntu, but I feel that that is the best OS to run the software on. Any help helps.by redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Making something that large is opnly useful if you will be constructing objects which are that large. You have to remember that the larger your device becomes, the less accurate it could possiblly become as well.by redskinsjbs - General
HeyHey Thats pretty handy for a free piece of software. I mean, Its still nothing like autodesk, but I only get to use that because my school has it. Thats really helpful Forrestby redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Hey Zach I don't really know of any of the parameters that would be good to use for gear from the laser cutter, but I have been working in Autodesk Inventor 10 recently. If you can get your hands on the trial version, I think you'll be amazed at how easy it is to create any DXF file. All of the gear create menus etc. are completely intuitive. Just as a side note to prove my point. All of the kby redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Oh, ok, that makes sense. I guess that the actual granule size of the might factor into its "stickiness" problem when the extrusion size gets that small.by redskinsjbs - Paste Extrusion Working Group
Is is possible to better the formation of an stl object? I mean, like can the computer re-render the object to greater accuracy?by redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
why doesn't just clay by itself work? I understand that it takes a lot of force to squeeze out the clay, but with a plunger system i think it might work. once my Darwin is upa nd running i'll take another look unless i am told that another direction is more promising.by redskinsjbs - Paste Extrusion Working Group
Hey guys, what about his for an idea. To gain the accuracy of a normal reprap and the ability to create nearly any shape, why not have the resin be in a sort of basin? The laser head could then dive into the resin and progress form there. This seems like it would provide accuracy, an near infinite number of shape possibilities, and a very cheap way to create the complicated designs people seem toby redskinsjbs - Polymer Working Group

OK, that clears it up for me. Thanks Blerikby redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Tell me if I butcher something. So I know next to nothing about SNAP protocols, but nophead said in another thread (Sorry if this is inapplicable) "The confusion here is that SNAP is just the transport layer which ensures the packets get there. USB already has that. The command layer is the thing that is unique to RepRap. If those commands are sent over USB there is no need for them to be wrappby redskinsjbs - RepRap Host
Oh, ok, I understand the thermodynamics thing. yea, the kart pointed towards its origin. It had a system of gears that measured the difference in speeds of its two wheels, and if one was turning faster(Eg, the kart was turning), the man would rotate.by redskinsjbs - Mechanics
I don't know how hard it would be to do, so this idea is just that, an idea. I was watching the history channel and they showed an old Chinese kart that had a man on top of it who always pointed towards where he came from, no matter how many or what kind of turns you took. This led me to think about a way to prevent the shrinkage of the plastics we are extruding. What if we were to extrude forwaby redskinsjbs - Mechanics
