Okie doke. I'll retake the photographs in the morning with the tags. I could use some better photos any way. I'll break out the dslr since the iphone ones didn't come out that great.

Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
I noticed people putting their name and date in the photos. Is this something I need to do to get sales or am I just being too particular?

Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
Hello folks!
I have a set of silver PLA Prusa Mendel parts with a set of wade plastic parts. I have them for sale at eMakershop where there are pictures and more info.
You can find the listing here

Try the "Input File" tab, there is a "Save Settings" button on the top right. That should do it.

Hello folks.
I've just gotten my Reprap Mendel put together and now I'm ready to configure the axes and the extruder. I've found this wiki page that explains how to configure the axes. My one question is that the page has step one as "Home all 3 axes."
Where exactly is home? In putting together all of the axes they are just in the random places where they were set when I tightened the belts and

General Mendel Topics
Hello folks!
I'm located in Athens, GA and am currently a graduate student in the art department at UGA. I'm planning on using my Mendel to make parts for artwork, mostly gears and other precision parts I cannot make by hand.
Currently I just finished getting all of my electronics together and tested. I went with the Arduino/ Pololu electronics and they seem to be working good in testing. There

Just a follow-up. After asking a hundred questions in multiple irc chat rooms I found that my problems were with the firmware. I missed a link at the bottom of the shield page on Ultimachine. The shield is currently only working with the firmware found here and with Repsnapper software. I was trying to use the standard Reprap software and the standard Mendel firmware that comes with the software

I am getting some resistance through the heatcore. Not quite the 6ohms but I am getting 4.8ohms which should be enough to get some heat.
It looks like the shield is not supplying any power to the EOH and power connections. Currently I have one element wire connected to EOH terminal and the other to the + terminal right above it. I checked and am getting no power to it with the "Switch heater On"

Dissidence- I'm using this opto kit from Ultimachine. Two of them seem to be working fine. I may have fried one of the components on the board or I may have a short.
Actually I just starting making the extruder and have run into some other problems...
I bought the Superpack Plastruder kit from MakerGear and started making the heatcore. Well, when I got to the part where I needed to heat the cer

Traumflug,
Thanks! It turns out the current regulators on the stepper driver were all the way up. I turned them all the way down and the vibrating has stopped. I also ordered some of those heatsinks and will attach them just in case.
One of the endstop LEDs is staying on constant so I'm guessing there is something wrong there. I'll deal with that after I get my extruder completed and test to ma

Thank you for the reply. The steppers motor wires were backwards... I completely goofed that one. I changed the wires around to match the diagram but now all of the stepper motors are slowly vibrating back and forth. I did notice one of the endstops had an led on. Would this be causing the problem?
I am using a computer power supply shown here so I do not know if that would be causing p

Still having problems... time for process of elimination. I would be very grateful if any one can help me here. I have gotten the Pololu/ Mega set up and it does not seem to be working right. I will list everything I've done so far and hopefully someone will catch what I'm doing wrong here.

emt or anyone else working on the pololu electronics,
So I've been trying to get the Mega/pololu electronics working. I've set the motherboard to 3 (mega) and changed most of the pins. The pins I cannot figure out are for the MIN_PIN and MAX_PIN for the XYZ steppers. I figure one pin is from the opto endstop but I'm not sure for the other. Should they be set the same?
Also, I'm still in the pro

So, I have my electronics just about done. In a few days I will need to start testing everything.
dissidence and Triffid_Hunter, I've been looking all day for the firmware for the Arduino Mega but I cannot seem to find any specifics to which is the correct one. In some forums posts fiveD is noted, but from what I can tell fiveD is included in the normal reprap firmware. So will the regular firmw

Sebastien- Arrow does ship small amounts so I will be able to order from them. Thank you for your help and pointing me to Octopart. That site is a great resource.

Nophead- Thanks, I forgot to check for the package number. Guess so much for that part...
Sebastien- All but one supplier is shipping out of the US or has minimum orders. It looks like Arrow ships small amounts from in the US but shows a 12 week lead time. I've e-mailed them to see if that lead time is for all orders or just for large orders. Hopefully the lead time is only for large quantities.

Well, Mouser.com suggested 511-VNB35N07-E as similar to the VNP14NV04-E MOSFET shown in the Eagle files. It looks to be rated for higher Voltage and Amps. My knowledge is thin, so I'm unsure if this is completely fine, if it will work but I will have to make changes to other parts, or if it will not work at all.

In the last week or two Adrian has posted pcb designs to the wiki and sourceforge pages for Pololu designs. It looks like they are completed so I'm going to give them a try. The only problem I'm having is finding the MOSFETs: VNP14NV04-E.
I've tried multiple electronic suppliers in the US and all are out of this part. I'm looking for an alternative right now, but does anyone else have any sugges

I'm just starting to look at making a reprap and the Pololu/ Arduino Mega electronics is interesting. Mostly interesting because I already have the Arduino Mega board. I'm looking at making the Adrian version.
The only thing that concerns me is the communication of this electronic setup to the software. I can not seem to find any documentation on this aspect of the Pololu set-up. Out of all of t

Well, I just found one way to save a good bit of funds. Right now it would cost over $250 just for the electronics. Using an Arduino mega and Pololu drivers would cost about $100 less (or cheaper if you already some of these parts).
Check it out if you haven't yet.

gr0k- It does fit in my pricing that the printed parts are what is bringing it over the $630 budget. I may try one of these other builds to make it a little cheap, or find someone to print the parts.
Sebastien- The wolfstrap is promising, even if just to print out the normal mendel parts. Plus, I have access to a wood shop so it shouldn't be too hard to make it. The one thing I'm trying to find

Hello,
I'm thinking of building a reprap mendel and have been pricing all of the parts and components. On the reprap data sheet it claims it can be made for $630 in the US. In my searching for materials (from multiple suppliers) I am at a little over $500 not including the reprapped parts, extruder parts, and the thick and thin sheets.
Am I missing a cheaper supplier here? Links below to google
