Could you give the firmware a heartbeat, as in make the debug led (pin 13 in arduino) blink during every round of the main loop. Makes debugging easier to know if the firmware has crashed or not Now I just get a "¹" after resetting.by elmom - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Ah, copier.c shouldn't be included at all. Will try again.by elmom - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I get "In function ‘copy’: error: ‘SIGNATURE_0’ undeclared (first use in this function)" (in copier.c) when trying to compile in the arduino environment. Would use the makefile, but can't seem to be able to program with it.by elmom - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I would really like to have the gen3 configuration merged in to master. Minimally it is mostly just some ifdefs from the point of view of single board configs, so shouldn't be too awkward. I've actually started doing just that.by elmom - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Now about me using the firmware: Would it be possible to have a single config.h file, or at least document all the places to look for. I couldn't find any mention of inverting axes (had to invert one on my mendel), end stops and other particularities. I could try to hack the code my self, but would like some hints or documentation as to what would be appropriate.by elmom - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I added an entry for this in RepRap_CAM_Toolchains and Traumflug added to it, but removed mention of the Gen3 compatibility. Is it intended not to be supported at all? I thought the Gen3 branch was supposed to work and be kept up to date. I was really hoping to be able to use it instead of the one by Adrian. I agree that Gen3 isn't the most compact configuration, but it is widely used. And I'm nby elmom - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
The hackerspace in Tamprere (5w.fi) has people interested in building repraps, I'm sure they would welcome you as member. There's also another cupcake cnc and a mendel built with it in Tampere. Please come to Helsinki Hacklab in Vallila to meet other RepRap enthusiasts, and Torsti, our Mendel Bot. Tuesdays are best for visiting, but almost any other time works also, just ask in advance.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
Forgot to mention that is on the Helsinki Hacklab table, near door 111.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
I now have a Mendel mostly working, just need to find a way to attach my hacked extruder. It is on display at the Assembly event now, with a working Cupcake CNC.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
So is anyone still looking to make a mendel and sharing initial costs? I'd like to build a mendel in the Helsinki area to be usable by the members of the Helsinki Hacklab. Everything is negotiable, but donating a machine to the hacklab would be the ideal end goal. It would be easy to divide the cost by three, since it's about 200+200+200, as in plastic parts, other hardware, electronics.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
Now they know They were very interested about cooperation, and we will likely get to use their demo machines to build stuff, and after the rings and badges, mendel parts will be on the list of thing to print. Their extruder was busted, but the cupcake gained lots of interest in itself. Tommorow I will talk to the Lego hobbyists there if they would be interested in 3D-printing compatible objectby elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
Something very interesting at the expo also: Roboplus.fi has a stand almost next us, with a big advertisement of Cupcake CNC. The text has all the open source stuff, and mentions thingiverse etc., but it would've been sensible to contact the Finnish reprap community by the entrepreneur. They are hopefully around today and tomorrow, so we chat.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
That's Model-expo.com in Helsinki, Messukeskus, this weekend, from 9-18. We are at 3f0.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
Please, join the Helsinki Hacklab effort to build 3D-printers. We have mendels and repstraps in the making. Hacklab.fi Add any notes to our project wiki: wiki/RepRap We have a table at the Model-Expo Fri-Sun, you are welcome to visit us.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
It would be nice collect all the reprap related activity and contact info etc. There are other communication channels than this: Finnish wiki for hacking Blogs etc: Email list for finnish hackers (Bilingual), please join!: IRC-channels: The channel for Helsinki Hacklab is the most useful one for reprappers. The front page for Helsinki Hacklab is Me: I have a McWire style repstrap missinby elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
How you came up with that estimate? I know of only one plan to make a Mendel type reprap and two other repstraps. Anyway, you all should at least join the Finnish hackerspace community: Hacklabs-fi.referata.com In Helsinki we are gaining serious momentum, just need to collect some 4000€ to be able to rent a space.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
No working reprap in Finland as far as I know.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
Biofuel is just a part of their solution, and I'm sure that they rather eat what is edible and make biofuel from non-edible stuff as efficiently as possible. Besides, lcal sourcing reduces the need to use fuel for transpotation, and uses a bit more non transportable energy, from the sun, wind etc. available as heat and electricity.by elmom - RepLab Working Group
A bit of interproject advertising. I think there are people reading this forum that aren't aware of the work done at openfarmtech.org. I hope this isn't too OT... I' forgot to add that currently they send all the scrap plastic to be burned, but maybe they could recycle some of it into a form more palatable by repraps =). Either making/buying equipment for it, or with help from like-minded people in the local industry...by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
I haven't yet visited their shop, but www.kierratys.net (en, fi) seems like the best place in the Helsinki area to get used electronics, other equipment, scrap metal, etc. I'm sure they would appreciate the ideology and current results of reprap and open source fablabs (and the CNC torch table at openfarmtech.org). We should definitely meet with them and discuss possibilites... Do you know ofby elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
I have a 2D table working and have the structure for the third axis mostly (nothing new functionally, see my old pics: # ). I bought my bearings from rrrf, hard to find them much cheaper. Used ones should work initially (don't pay much), but you might want to upgrade later if you find the urge to push the machine's limits. I'm usually home much earlier, so we'll see. About forming a hacker space. My ambitions and plans tend to "travel", and I need to restrict my time usage to get more (any) homework done (sadly my income depends on it). I'm very much interested (and I don't play much or drink booze), but my attention will be divided among many and irregular.by elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
Hi! I've been quiet, but I have progressed with my repstrap, and should have something come out of it finally in a month. I'm only missing the plastic rod... Do you feel as strongly about the work at openfarmtech.org? I'm so hooked that I'll be following their plans when I have the space (a big piece of land to build upon has been a dream for long). I've also subscribed to the 10$ per month fundby elmom - Finnish RepRap User Group
You should try the avr-libc version from ubuntu 8.10 (1.6.2), i'm pretty sure it shoud do it. I posted about this regarding the sanguino, but it seems to be a general problem after all...by elmom - RepRap Host

I got the g-code interpreter from svn working (for an xy table) with my sanguino, but I had to upgrade the avr-libc 1.4.7 in Ubuntu 8.04 to the 1.6.2 in 8.10 (no dependency problems) because the function "strtod" would crash. Now I'm happily plotting, though I have to make a proper mount for the toolhead (pen).by elmom - Controllers
