I'm one of those people who was planning on making an STM32F4 board, and talked to a lot of people getting feedback. I had to drop it, unfortunately, because life got too busy, and linuxCNC-based systems appeared to be gaining ground, which I think have a lot of potential for the high end. I'd be surprised to see someone take the cpu from the beaglebone and put it on a dedicated printer driver boby matt.minuti - Controllers
We don't actually have any code in common with Scratch, just the goal of making programming-like stuff accessible to kids BlocksCAD is implemented in javascript, and we're aiming to eventually incorporate OpenSCAD directly as the engine via emscripten. I've been in contact with the OpenSCAD devs about this and how to incorporate the necessary changes to OpenSCAD into the mainline. Desktop willby matt.minuti - 3D Design tools
Hi everyone, I work at a family-friendly makerspace called Einstein's Workshop. Among (many) other things, part of my job is to teach people how to use OpenSCAD. Young children tend to get overwhelmed by syntax, but are fine with things like programming in Scratch. So, I put together a Scratch-like GUI for making OpenSCAD code, called BlocksCAD. Whoops, sorry for the delayed confirmation, but I will in fact be able to attend! My wife will likely tag along as well, though the prusa we've been building might not be complete by then. Here's hoping, though!by matt.minuti - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
I ought to be able to make it, but I should know for sure within the week. I'll also know then whether or not I'm bringing my Prusa, which I'm aiming to get assembled in the next few days. I could instead (or also?) bring my cupcake, #1096, if anyone just starting out cared to see an older machine. And I'd love to see one of the LeafLabs boards, Larry, if you're offering! Greetings from the Manchester, NH area! I have a Makerbot Cupcake with a DC brutstruder. I've been gradually printing myself a Prusa, and I'm only a few parts away from having everything needed to breathe life into it. Meeting some of the local reprapers and/or 3D printing scene could be fun. I can't offer any meeting location in my area, unfortunately.by matt.minuti - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
