i checked my wiring and used 22ga wire with those idc connectors. I have the correct crimper on hand for them...strange..by Aperion - Controllers
I do think it's a grounding issue. If I place my finger on the analog input from pin 6, the stepper motor will try to work, but there's no control. Does anyone know if the board layout is available? EDIT: When I looked very closely next to the two rs485 pins, there's a 180 ohm resistor, r1. It's missing on my board. Hmm, could this be the problem?by Aperion - Controllers

I'm not finished with my reprap yet, but what about brazing a couple brass nuts to a hakko 907 chisel tip and using a hakko ceramic heating element? The ceramic element that hakko uses reaches temp within several seconds and it contains a temp sensor of some sort.by Aperion - Plastic Extruder Working Group
