Is it possible to mount one of these between your extruder/stepper? It will absorb quite a lot of the vibrations and should make a noticeable difference.by tarjeik - CoreXY Machines
Thanks misan, I've ordered a few off eBay just to try them out. Will hook them up to a lab supply and try to determine load characteristics (don't have any means of measuring torque though). Also shot off an inquiry about pricing/more details to Nidec in case I have more luck than you. Will let you know if I hear back from them.by tarjeik - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Quotemisan The third choice is a brushless motor from Nidec, the 12V one from 24H series . Again eBay sellers have no info or idea about what they sell and my unit arrived rusted on the outside (but operational). Nidec is a B2B manufacturer and unit prices are only available for manufacturers. Nidec motor has room in the drivers PCB for an encoder but my $7 unit did not have it on board. Quotetarjeik I've ordered a 1.1 board from the MakerBase store on Ali. The listing still says V1.0, but I've been promised that they'll ship the V1.1 board (it shipped yesterday after having been out of stock for a while). MKS SBASE on AliExpress For anyone interested, they have now updated the product description on the AliExpress listing. The v1.1 changelog: fix temperature problem. add theby tarjeik - Controllers

QuoteCapnBry I was powering it over USB as well with a Raspberry Pi which was powered from a 5V switching regulator hooked to the 12V supply, so theoretically this was already the case. As stated in my initial review, the power usage does drop when you plug it into USB so that's definitely doing something, but it doesn't drop off completely. I'm not sure if that's just quiescent draw of the regulby tarjeik - Controllers

Quotesheepdog43 Ez Struder - LOVE IT! However, I don't recomend it for anything much smaller than a .5mm nozzle, as it lacks the torque for it, even with a Kysan. If you are using a large diameter nozzle though, this is the best extruder in my experience. It's simple, cheap and effective. Don't be fooled, nozzle size is far less important for quality than layer height. Are you seeing these probleby tarjeik - Delta Machines
