Just been doing some interesting reading on usb voltages: Guessing my motherboard/usb controller isn't doing too well, I'll test on some other supplies soon.by bobemoe - RAMPS Electronics
Hmm, my RBL says 0, thats just a jumper isn't it? My 5V rail goes up from 4.45V to 4.70V when I disconnect the smart controller, so it is pulling the voltage down a fair bit, although its not starting from a great place to begin with. The USB port with nothing connected at all (apart from an Arduino Duemilonove) measures in at 5.05V With a 10ohm resistor across it (that should draw the ports mby bobemoe - RAMPS Electronics
SOLVED from advice on the thread linked to above. A 2k2 resistor between GND and Contrast pins as labeled below: Now, of course, the contrast is too low when running on USB power, but I'd prefer it that way round!by bobemoe - RAMPS Electronics
Yes perfect, thank you enif! For me a 2k2 resistor between GND and Contrast has fixed the issue! Same here.. the Marlin contrast setting has no effect.by bobemoe - Controllers
I have a similar but not quite the same issue here and I have a slightly different board too, so although the resistor ideas may still work, I'm not sure where I would try putting them!?by bobemoe - Controllers
Just found this thread which is similar but not exact. The solution of playing with the trim pot or adding resistors seems tempting but it looks like a have a much newer board and the pins aren't quite the sameby bobemoe - RAMPS Electronics
Hi I have the RepRapDiscount Full Graphic Smart Controller, both it and the printer are working fine, however when running with the ATX PSU turned on the LCD background brightens up and appears to have a grid of various brightness lines across it, the display is a little more "shadowy", and the highlight as I move between menu items seems to take a while to fade, leaving a trail of highlighted iby bobemoe - RAMPS Electronics
OK, so following on from above.. I'm making progress, seems the buzzing was from the speaker on the LCD board, the configuration didnt have the correct LCD selected. I've got that working now, the layout looks a little different, and the axes seem to have inverted. Would be good to get the current config, as the one attached to this thread seems to be out of date??by bobemoe - For Sale
Hi, I'm just finishing off assembling my RepRap i3 Box Frame from gcolbourn, and I have found the endstops were showing closed when they are open, I read that I can invert them in the configuration.h file, so I grabbed it from this thread along with the thermistortable.h files, added it to the master branch of Mendal from github ( ) , compiled and uploaded. There were a couple of compile issby bobemoe - For Sale
