Hello, I made some gen3 stepper drivers according to the instructions on the site but I'm having trouble getting them to work. When I hook it up and test it nothing happens, the power LED doesn't even light up. However, when I hook up a stepper motor and turn it by hand all the LEDs manage to work. All suggestions are appreciated, Thanks.by 3:37 - Controllers
Hey, I'm trying to connect the gen3 drivers to a mega. Which pins have to be connected to PWM/digital? Also it says that the drivers should only run motors with a resistance greater than 6 ohms, I however do not have such a motor yet. The only 4 phase motor I own is very small and has a resistance of around 3 ohms. Is it possible to run this motor for short period of time to test my boards or doby 3:37 - Controllers
The motors have a 'pentagon bipolar' arrangement with 5 pairs of coils (one lead per pair) resulting in 10 coils in total. I pulled these motors out of a office machine, I could not find specific data sheets for them. My guess is that they were specifically made for those office machines but did find a similar product line by the same manufacture.by 3:37 - Controllers
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to connect a 5 phase stepper motor to the stepper driver V2.3. Thanks.by 3:37 - Controllers
Hi, I'm building a repstrap soon and I found some cheap threaded rod at the hardware store that seems to have very little back lash when combined with the matching nut and seems to be quite straight. I was wondering if you guys thing it's worth it to start with that as my lead screws or should I invest in some good Acme threaded rods right off the bat. My goal is to have accuracy within a millimeby 3:37 - Mechanics
Here is my strip-board thermocouple, I followed the circuit diagram provided in the wiki to the letter. The layout: A is the thermocouple input. B is the signal. My bad soldering job: My gold IC in all its glory: The set up: Measurements: Enjoy (By the way, does any one know if I can trim that ridiculously long probe?)by 3:37 - Controllers
Looks like this idea isn't new,by 3:37 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi, I'm Building a RepStrap soon. Noticed people having trouble with PTFE melting on them so I started thinking about alternatives and came up with the attached design. The barrel would be made out of a single piece of threaded brass rod, the machining would consist of turning down the nozzle and drilling the two holes. The barrel would then simply be threaded into a extruder rig and then a holloby 3:37 - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Thanks for the help, also does anyone know if the RepRap PCBs are double sided. If anyone has made PCBs for a RepRap and has any tips to share they will be appreciated.by 3:37 - Controllers
Hello, I'm getting ready to make a RepRap and I would like to keep my costs as low as possible. Seeing as Maker Bot Industries do not sell the bare PCBs for the motherboard and such I was wondering if it is possible to etch your own PCBs for those electrical components or are the tolerances for the SMT components too high for an amateur job.
