Hey guys, Long time since I logged in here, two things: 1. Is anyone thinking of getting the new Folgertech FT-5 CoreXY-style printer? 2. First print in about two months, not bad considering the filament definitely has some moisture in it...by therippa - Prusa i3 and variants
Quick poll - what speed/layer height do you guys usually print with? I'm at 45mm/s and 0.2mm layer height. Edit: Apparently I can print at 90mm/s with no problems. Nice.by therippa - Prusa i3 and variants

You didn't put a link to the uprade so I can't tell you if it's the right one but good bearings are expensive, there is no way around that. Cheap bearing will be just that, cheap. QuoteSteveRoy QuoteToxic0n How accurate are the printing estimations in Repetier/Slic3r? When I was printing at 0.4 and 0.3mm layer height, I thought they were pretty close. Printed these Z mounts at 0.2mm for the first time last night and the ETA said 2:44 and it took over 5 hours? 60mm/s printing speed. On the flip side, they look good! QuoteToxic0n Any recommendations for an upgraded Y carriage bearing holders? I'm not sold on the zip tie approach. I found one for X carriage, but nothing for Y. Also, the right side X axis mount (where the motor is attached)? The rod holes were slightly too small so I had to dremel them out so I'd rather print a new one now. QuoteGrouchoDuke Is anyone running a Toranado extruder on their Folger Tech? I got my stock extruder working again, but I'm looking for what's great out there. This looks promising: Jeeeeesus Christ that thing looks like an over-engineered piece of hardware. With that said, I feel like I haven't done any upgrades in two months so I may print one. But I expect something that complicated to haby therippa - Prusa i3 and variants
The branch in my sig is 1.0.2-1 (latest marlin release). If you want to try RC3, you can use my personal branch, but it is pretty far from the stock folgertech setup at this point (leadscrews, sonnylowe y/x upgrades, extruder upgrades, full LCD,etc) -by therippa - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotejhitesma QuoteUltiFix Im wondering why I need to move my X axis endstop to the left for auto level? I upgraded to therippas firmware and it works fine on the right. QuoteUltiFix Quotethebabymaker I've had a lot of clogs lately - mostly because the nozzle has been scraping on my aluminum bed and clogging it up with aluminum shavings! QuoteJustAGuy Hey all. Had my first real malfunction today and am not really sure where to start on troubleshooting. Started a print and went to take the girls to the mall. Came back and found that the printer had stopped shortly after I left. Only about 1.5 layers of the print were done and the nozzle was stuck in the nylon filament that had already been layed down. Quoterollinns QuoteBert3D Reply to Rollinns You may be masking the problem rather than fixing it. If you aren't moving at slow step rates, your driver current is probably not correct. You may have just never noticed it because you never tried to move slow before. Do you have your X endstop on the left and plugged into the min-x position?
