I broke one of my green terminals, and now I'm getting insufficient power to the machine. What size are these supposed to be?by Lobotomy - Controllers
The output didn't tell me whether I was using PID or Bang Bang, but I set it to PID in a new line in my config.g to make sure, as seen below. Do you think I should run M303? I've never tuned PID before. Quotedc42 Vertical line artefacts on flat surfaces when the layer height is an exact number of full steps may be caused by low-current microstepping issues. These are common when using DRV8825 drivers, but A4988 drivers can suffer from this too. TL smoothers or equivalent (2 pairs of back-to-back diodes in series with each phase) will help with that. Cool, I'll pick some up. Quotedc42 If the verby Lobotomy - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Running the latest of your build of RRF, Kossel 2020 design, and slicing my prints with Cura. I am more than willing to find a new slicer, if that's my problem. While the prints come out fine for the most part, there are very small outer shell inaccuracies that I wish to make go away. Title says it all, really. I moved from RAMPS to RADDS, and while I am impressed, I don't notice TOO HUGE an improvement in print quality, although it is definitely there, and I'm assuming that has to do with the fact that I never changed the stepper drivers from the chinese A4988s to anything better, as I'm told that these are probably the worst drivers. The TMC21XX series definitely looks promby Lobotomy - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Well, wouldn't you know it, I can finally calibrate to within .039mm! Thanks! What did that H parameter do, anyway? I guess now, all I have to do is add structural rigidity. I'll probably end up buying those aluminum vertices after all.by Lobotomy - Delta Machines
Can do, and have done. They're all attached below. The bed diameter is 240mm, and the new magball rods are about 17mm longer (288.12) than the originals (271.5), if that helps any. I was told that it shouldn't actually affect the kinematics too much, provided that it's compromised for in software. Thanks in advance, it would be nice to have a second pair of eyes on these files.by Lobotomy - Delta Machines
I forced the Smart Effector lights on, and tried the probing sequence again. This time, I did six-factor twice, and ended up with a comparable result of 3.9-ish mm of deviation, with no improvement upon the second pass: This video shows the concavity: Alright, prefacing the textwall with what I've done since my last post: -Tested my current steps per mm values, and with my limited range of meby Lobotomy - Delta Machines
@dc42 The probe portion of the video really wasn't as important as the output on the panel. The beginning of the video is really just me archiving footage of what I'm doing, for my own sake. I have read the calibration tutorial, yes, although I'd never discount the possiblity that I missed something. I'll read it again after work. The Trigorilla RAMPS clone board that shipped with the Anycubic Kossel series, is a total piece. If you can afford it, throw that thing away as soon as possible, and get 32-bit electronics, like the Duet (top of the line) or RADDS (comparable, but far cheaper). With those boards, and RepRapFirmware, you are essentially guaranteed better prints, right off the bat, as well as giving you support forby Lobotomy - Delta Machines
So it could be a stepper driver problem, you say? I have an Anycubic Linear Plus, and the effector thinks that my bed is higher on the towers than towards the center, and not even calibration will fix it! I did everything from upgrading to RADDS 32-bit hardware, the Duet3D Smart Effector PCB, to Magnetic Effector Rods, and through all of that, I kept the old A4988 steppers. I'll buy some TMCs, aby Lobotomy - Delta Machines
@o_lampe: I was mostly just experimenting, because I couldn't find out which parameter changed the Z-probe probing height. That ended up working fine, and it will now calibrate, but I'm running into another problem. Now the bed won't calibrate the deviation any more accurately than 3.8**. It also changes the Delta Radius, which it sets incorrectly, bringing the "raised bed at the towers" deformaby Lobotomy - Delta Machines
Hey, I have everything set up with my Kossel, save for just one last thing. I have a Delta Smart Effector, and when I go to probe the bed, the convex movement of the effector over the bed keeps me from being able to probe anywhere but the middle. I tried to make the effector lift 20mm from the bed after probing 0,0,0 so that it wouldn't scrape the nozzle against the bed, trying to scoot over therby Lobotomy - Delta Machines
Yeah, I homed it first, no errors in the console. I have a PanelDue, so I use that and USB, instead of networking. No DWC for me! I noticed that inverting the Z-probe trigger (M558 I1) would send the head downward with G30, but I cannot stop it, despite the light flickering to touch. Since it appears that most documentation, resources, and FAQs on this piece of hardware are currently down, as far as I can tell, I'm mostly playing this installation by ear. I have everything wired up nicely, save for fans. I turn on the printer, and the PCB effector flashes green twice. Good to know it turns on, at least. This thing is really sharp, David. So, to clarify, endstop max pins on min pins, as they always were, Effector Z-probe pin on the PWM3 cluster, additional (???) Effector pin on X-max, and everything else should be fine? I'm still a little confused, but hopefully that'll be ironed out as I play with it. I would prefer to use endstop switches, as I don't have TMC2660/2100s.by Lobotomy - Delta Machines
That's a really cool idea, guy! If I didn't have delrin rods, I'd definitely have tried this!by Lobotomy - Delta Machines
I'm having the absolute WORST time just trying to find an effector for my Delta that works. I spent a week just getting the RADDS working, a week discovering that the effector that came with my printer is non-spec, and most of a year, just sourcing parts, and sitting around, waiting. Needless to say, I'm pretty fed up, and I'm about three inches away from just throwing my printer in the trash. Noby Lobotomy - Delta Machines

Thank you, that worked just fine! As for the fans, if I can't get them working, I'll probably just make my own fan system, as I'm taking power from an ATX PSU, and have some open molex connections.by Lobotomy - Duet
Hey, my RADDS-RRF Kossel is almost completely set up, but there is just two things left that I need to take care of; Extruders and Fans. So, what kind of beefcake hardware is RRF going to be designed for? Are there 64-bit, or super high-end 32-bit boards with 3d printer shields? Honestly the RADDS and Duet series of boards are the best I've found anywhere so far. Am I just out of the loop?by Lobotomy - Controllers

If you're not fully up to date on the Marlin Firmware, then you may not even have tower correction. I remember that the version I started with did not. The Anycubic Kossel Thingiverse group has a couple of newer download links. If you spend money on anything, buy some machined aluminum vertices for ~$35-50, depending on where you look.
