Somewhat in line with your project here. Seed has a open source soldering station PCB. I am trying to build it my self for a side project. I think dangerous prototypes designed it. I'm on my cell or I would post a like now.by dissidence - Experimental and Hobby
i must be the odd one out of the box, the only trouble i have had with my qu-bd mk7 extruder is with PLA, with ABS i get more than good prints out of it, though i did get a different hobbed drive gear for it from ebay, but ya its sad to see that you are having such trouble with your order.by dissidence - General
this guy essentially mk7 hobbed gear. in the pic you can see how i did things on the top, all i really did is cut a square in the plate and then used pc7 to attach my lm7uu bearing, and so far so good. i should have made the square a tad bigger so that it would be less trouble to add another extruder.by dissidence - General
i do know the more the better, i want to try 14v some day if i ever get a power supply like that.by dissidence - General
so whats it at now.?by dissidence - General
i just got some 1.8mm PTFE bowden tube, but for some reason i though to see if it would fit in my 3mm makergear hot end tube, and what do ya know its almost a perfect fit. so here is my question, can i use a hot end for ABS or PLA with the bowden tube going all the way to the to the end of the hot end.?by dissidence - Plastic Extruder Working Group
what i did is not an ideal solution, but i scavenged a mount plate for a SSD and then i used PC7 to glue the lm7uu bearings i had to it after i cut a whole in it big enough for the qu-bd hot end. i also got a better drive gear for the qu-bd extruder, my only issue with is is that i am not able to print with PLA, it just james up in it too fast. but for my ABS its worked great, and i am still usiby dissidence - General
ya know thats not a bad idea, i would/could make for some good cases for the printers electronics.by dissidence - General
I only got the hardware from them and not my electronics. Mine was not all that bad. I'm now trying to turn mine into more of a demo printer. That's less trouble to take to placesby dissidence - Look what I made!
its a shame that PTC sensors are such a pain to use too, they would be a good option, i have 20 of them i need to figure out what to do with.by dissidence - General
i am thinking about going to this type of z axis lift system, but i was thinking about just going to a pulley over a geared stepper, i have one an they are remarkably stiff. or do you have stl files of your parts there a guy could try to print first.?by dissidence - Mechanics
after i saw that i downloaded it, i don't think it will save anything but a video unless you purchase it. i would have thought that there would be a opensource tool like that buy now. but software is not my strong suit.by dissidence - General
ya know i like this idea a lotby dissidence - Slic3r
you can use the marlin firmware same one that you print with, but your going to want to use something better than a dremel, here is a good starting point for ya http://reprap.org/wiki/Cyclone_PCB_Factoryby dissidence - General
i think the delta bots are cool, though i dont see why a guy would have to use 1.75mm filament, other than the lighter the hot end the better for a delta.by dissidence - General
interesting video, i wish that extruded aluminum was not so pricey here in canada.by dissidence - General
i wanted to support your kickstarter try, but my funds were tied up. have you made anything for a repstrap/reprap with xwinder yet.?by dissidence - General
QuoteKenzu I use Simplify3D as my main slicer. It miss some small things, but overall it's alot better than Slic3r and Cura. It's another workflow, but you can put many processes on the same part. Ex. Slice with 0.35 layers for the first 5mm, and the 0.1mm for the last. It all so handle multi extruder very nice. You can all so setup manual support. I only miss Honeycomb infill from KISSlicer Comby dissidence - Slic3r
ya know i think one thing that i have noticed, is that not all the development is going on here so much, with so many other printers out there, i think more and more is going on outside of this forum/body than most people think.by dissidence - General
i would also like to see a better separation of general help vs general development. but i think there is still a lot of good ideas out there. i wish there was a way to start to think about some sort of reprap foundation.by dissidence - General
bad link. i am looking into something like that, because i dont want to hear all the fans i have just going at full speed, might help if i found some quieter ones. the old one i have seems to be getting some issues.by dissidence - General
i know if i was looking at that many fans i would start looking at some of the computer controler options, http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX49873 i am thinking about going to a option like that,by dissidence - General
here it just goes to show how much things have improved in 3 years. the clear part is a pla part out of my first huxley, and just tuned well enough to get a print out. ya i got much better prints out of it in time. then the blue one is from my mendel that i printed with my huxley. i started with repsnapper with my huxley to slicer, and cura. though mostly cura. with my mendelby dissidence - Look what I made!

i am not sure exactly but i cant think of any other forum a few companies regret pissing off.by dissidence - General
Ya know i don't see why that won't work. I will have to check the firmware on the arduino to see if it supports it out of the box. If a guy went that rout it might not be hard to add the button inputs too. But that's more than a Lil over my head.by dissidence - Firmware - mainstream and related support
hey i found this on hackaday, i thought people here might find it handy if not interesting given that pretty much all of us have blown a driver or 2 http://hackaday.com/2014/03/02/the-stepper-driver-driver/by dissidence - General
I should be able to remember more about that. I think I was just starting to go on these forums when that happened. He would be in a hard place though had he not given up on that. There have been more than a few people who got on the wrong side of these forums. I think the only one to survive was makerbot. I don't think this thread was started with ill intent but more way seems to be a observaby dissidence - General
i want to try that filament, but there shipping to canada just is not worth it.by dissidence - General
i was wondering if anyone knows if i could get marlin to send info over serial to one of these guys,www.sparkfun.com/products/10097 it would only be one way, but i have one laying around and thought it might make for a good small display on a huxly i want to get back up and running.by dissidence - Firmware - mainstream and related support
