If x axis is your issue make sure you have your end stops set right. If you have it set for one endstop, and its inverted the axis will only move one way.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
GMT, was the problem that you had the extruder not spinning? And this fixed it?by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Matthieu You may need to invert the Z axis, I bet its getting a false end stop hit (that happened to me). Did you get your code to compile? Traumflug I've gotten as far as all axis work, heater works, all sensors work. But the extruder doesn't spin properly... I haven't had time to get back to it lately, but I hope to this week.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Sirbj, no ty. Once I realised what's going on I got it sorted out . thanks. Actually, sure post it up. It can't hurt to take a look.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Can you send me a copy of your firmware (Main board and extruder)? It seems in the later revisions of Teacup something went wrong for Gen3 electronics, the extruder doesn't spin properly.by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, Toronto RepRap User Group
Ok, I am on the same page now, I did get a twitch of life from my extruder before the machine froze, but that's tomorrows problem.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
I see it now. You sent me the extruder config.h and I thought i was looking at the main board config.hby Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
SirBJ. Question or comment, I'm not sure yet. In the config.h file it says "For a GEN3 set temp_type to TT_INTERCOM and temp_pin to 0." but you used TT_Thirmistor. Do you have the extruder controller board that goes with Gen3? That may cause the issue. I'm still trying to get mine to compile, but thought I would share.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hey, I'm in london, and with the exception of firmware issues we have a working printer also. Did you get your answers Lunar?by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, London RUG
I lost my firmware, and haven't been able to get the printer printing since. I need to fond some working firmware for Gen3 electronics.by Adam.m.Nelson - Canada, Toronto RepRap User Group
Awesome thanks sirbj. I'll try that tomorrow, atleast I'll know if I was making a mistake or if the environment is acting up now . To get the extruder code to compile I had to copy a file from the main directory to the extruder directory...by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
@sirbj can I see your config file?by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Traumflug Thanks for the link. I'll have to try and find the older version of the firmware, and try that. I wonder is a Gen3'er would be able to post their working teacup firmware.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Ya that wasn't the issue. Any chance someone can upload their config file for their gen 3 electronics?by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
The answer may be here, I'll update soonby Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
I am failing at configuring the teacup config file. It simply won't compile. My problem (as far as I can tell is in sections 4 and 5 the temp sensor and the heater config). Has anyone set this up for Gen3 electronics?by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Ok, I can't find the issue. I've decided to move onto Teacup firmware, and see if that solves the issue.by Adam.m.Nelson - RepRap Host
Hey Guys, I've run into this before. I only read over it quick, but you need to change " #include < HardwareSerial.h > " in the pde file to " #include < SoftwareSerial.h > " Hope this helps. If not send me your firmware I'll take a look. I had to change it a bit to make the forum allow it. remove the spaces inside the < brackets.by Adam.m.Nelson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Ok. I am using the latest software(slic3r + pronterface), I've tried all kinds of different settings in slic3r, but it seems that once the printer gets into the gcode for normal movements (after the startup/setup) it freezes the machine. Sometimes the debug LED stops blinking, and its just hung up, some times the led keeps blinking and it jsut stops responding. I'v tried changing the comm sby Adam.m.Nelson - RepRap Host
Ok I'll give that a shot and get back to you. Do you know if its compatible with the gen3 electronic firmware?by Adam.m.Nelson - RepRap Host
Gen 3 electronics (yes I know they are out dated, I've haven't spent enough time to get this done lately lol), using Reprap host on Win XP. I had to start over from scratch with the firmware/software as the machine it was on went down and I couldn't recover the files. I got the firmware set all back up properly (from what I can tell). All the axis and the extruder seem to go the distance theyby Adam.m.Nelson - RepRap Host
Hmm thanks Viktor, I'll have to look into that for sure. I think I'm going to buy some upgraded electronics for my Mendel (currently Gen3, and I can't seem to get past its freezing problem..) Which will free up my gen 3 electronics for the laser cutter. Turns out its a 40Watt CO2 laser, should be funby Adam.m.Nelson - Laser Cutter Working Group
So if I understand correctly, there is no way to use the host software to control my laser if I mod in my own control board into the laser?by Adam.m.Nelson - Laser Cutter Working Group
That's the one I have! Ya the interface is garbage. Getting hardware designed and set-up isn't an issue ( I do it all day at my job), how do you tell the interface softwares (hosts) to do the single layer on the outside edges? Is there an option for it?by Adam.m.Nelson - Laser Cutter Working Group
Hey there, I've recently come into possession of a laser cutter strong enough to cut acrylic, issue is the software to run it is terrible. So, I want to replace the XY axis controllers with those fro the Reprap project and 'print' it with the reprap host. Hardware I can get working just fine. I'm not sure how to use the reprap host to do this though, and my searches haven't led me anywhere usby Adam.m.Nelson - Laser Cutter Working Group
Thats fantastic!by Adam.m.Nelson - General
thats awesome! can you post a pic of it for me to see?by Adam.m.Nelson - General
Did all the PVA end up disolving in the end gr0k? Printing with support interestes me a lot, I wouldn't be above making my own PVA filiment if it was going to work well.by Adam.m.Nelson - General
Has anyone tried polyvinyl alcohol as a support material? I know the melting point is pretty low, but its water soluable.. Just wondering, Adamby Adam.m.Nelson - General
Thats not entirely true. I had to rebuild the extruder, but am using the same heater wire and thermister.by Adam.m.Nelson - General
