Quoteto3dornottobe I did get frustrated/angry with SBASE. Seller is probably as stubborn as I am, though i am capable of admitting my own flaws, squeaks, beeps quirks and errors.. He refused to offer help. (other than the option to solder the parts in myself). It took a a negative review before he admitted he was wrong. Too bad it had to come that far. @Arthurwolf; To what email can i donate aby arthurwolf - Controllers
Hey. A few comments. Quotedc42 - Much better web interface. The Smoothie 1.0 board may never get a good web interface because of RAM constraints. I expect Smoothie 2 will have more RAM. Smoothie has a very basic web interface not because of RAM constraints, but simply because we've been working on an awesome one, and it's turned out to be a much bigger project than we anticipated In order toby arthurwolf - Huxley
I've been grepping the #reprap logs for the past month and can't find the discution you described this way : « Do NOT bring up this board on the irc channel or you will want to murder a lot of people as they will bitch you out and flat out tell you to go eff yourself as they will not help you with this board since it is closed source and is not good for the open source/hardware/reprap community.by arthurwolf - Controllers
I'm sorry I thought you were talking about the Smoothieware channel, not the reprap channel ... Smoothie sure has it's supporters in there ( #reprap ), and it's a place where a lot of debate happens, but you'll also find people there that find that Smoothie is crap, or that MKS SBASE is awesome, or that Open-Source doesn't matter. It's also full of trolls. But all of the internet is really. Jusby arthurwolf - Controllers

QuoteGiantkiller Motor driver circuits on main board. Bad deal. A driver blows and you blow money money. The drivers are *designed* to be on-board. They are much better heatsinked than pololu-type drivers, and *extremely* less likely to die. If you manage to kill the driver ( which again, is extremely rare, much much rarer than on a RAMPS for example ), wiring an external driver in it's place iby arthurwolf - Reprappers
Quoteshteecers Sbase has uart? I just find Nextion lcd and I thought to myself can I connect to sbase, and if yes than how? SBase ( and all Smoothie-based boards ) definitely have UART : you can't get the board to work at all without first flashing the bootloader via uart at the factory, so it *has* to be broken out. About nextion, I bought a few, because I wanted to make a 3D printer controlby arthurwolf - Controllers
Oh right, see I did not understand that was what you need from your messages. If you need to do a custom movement sequence to deploy the probe, you can do this either by setting the sequence in your slicer's settings, or by setting up a switch module ( smoothieware.org/switch ) to map a gcode to that specific gcode sequence. Cheers.by arthurwolf - Delta Machines
His probe is manual, you have to install it manually, and remove it manually, so there is no Gcode there. If somebody has an automated probe that is deployed via a servo or a selonoid, Smoothie supports that too. It will *indeed* require you to add a gcode to the slicer's start gcode sequence.by arthurwolf - Delta Machines
Quotew3drk You should look over the Linux kernel development boards and read some of the things Linus Torvalds has said in the past. But there is no arguing the positive impact Linux (and Linus) has made on the computing world. « I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. » -- Torvalds, Linus (1991-08-25). QuoteDark Alchemist I just know that for me and how I do things that is a deal breaker and I hope it makes it in sometime but I suspect, even by your own words, that if it does make it in will probably be only because someone remembers to do it while getting ready for the 300 dollar V2/Pro beast (the new microcontroller I presume that you mentioned). QuoteDark Alchemist Quotew3drk When switching from Marlin to Smoothie my only gripe -and this is with Smoothieware and not the SBASE- is Smoothieware doesn't support software end-stops.
