Why are there very few models with belt drives for the Z axis? I would think it would all but eliminate any wobble from an Acme rodby RC-CnC - General

Smoothie Wars yaaaaaaah! All because I asked if there was a Smoothie sectionby RC-CnC - General
All I'm saying is Smoothieware could be future. Just like tape drives replaced punch cards, cassettes replaced 8 tracks, cd's replaced cassettes. I've always been an advocate on new technologyby RC-CnC - General
Yeah I was trying to clean up the connector orientation.by RC-CnC - General
If I knew more about Smoothieware I'd do it n a heartbeat. I'd feel awful giving someone misinformation. Maybe after this 1st project.by RC-CnC - General
Maybe the RepRap Admins will create a Smoothie sectionby RC-CnC - General

Geez I feel real stupid!!!! Did you know you can put the uSD card in upside down....UGH...middle 2 leds are now blinking in unisonby RC-CnC - General
The SD came with the board from Panucatt. Removed uSD the firmware.bin was not renamed. I did run the installer for the drivers, maybe that didn't work. I plugged in the board without the card and the same four lights still are steady on. Previously I checked device manager and there was nothing in the list, even after I scanned for hardwareby RC-CnC - General
Hey fellas I'm in need of some assistance. Smoothie in new to me Win 7 doesn't recognize Azteeg X5 or uSD card when plugged in USB power led on and the first 4 leds are steady on Win 7 does "see" the uSD card has the firmware.bin and config.txtby RC-CnC - General

Just received my Azteeg X5 board layout and connectors appear very solid and well thought outby RC-CnC - General
I was wondering when someone was going to attempt this. I'have been contemplating doing this on my FrankenDel build to make it different. It would definitely eliminate any shake that may be induced by a acme rod that wasn't quite straight. Any other results to post??by RC-CnC - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Looking for some feedback on Bulldog lite extruder? Does 1.75mm filament out perform 3mm filament?by RC-CnC - General

I'm partial to extrusion..I have been using it for years for all types machines. I did buy all the flatwork from MM because my guy who does waterjet is booked for the next month. The extrusion is 20mmby RC-CnC - General
After much research I've decided to go with a MendelMax 2 style but with my twist. I like the idea of using extrusion and aluminum brackets. I'll be changing a few things you'll have to follow to see the updates. I'll post a few fotos of the chassis during the buildby RC-CnC - General
Maybe i'll try the Panucatt Azteeg X5 miniby RC-CnC - General
anwe79...my only concern is if you burnout a stepper driver you have to replace the whole board. Panucatt has Azteeg X5 miniby RC-CnC - General

It's not that I don't want to fix or can't fix the issue with the VIKI. That combo is reserved for another build. I kinda jumped into Arduino with my eyes closed. I'm not a programmer of any sort Here's is the thing...I contacted support for the VIKI several times over 6 months and got very little support in anything useful. Customer support is huge for me. I build and support CnC routers. I eby RC-CnC - General
Hey folks I'm seeking advice for the best 3d printer board as of date. I'm kinda new to 3d printing and Arduino. 1) Reliable 2) Cost 3) Ease of use. I've used an Azteeg X1 3DP and a VIKI LCD previously but have had issues ( can't get VIKI to display anything)by RC-CnC - General
