anyone interested in a clear acrylic set? 1/4" thick acrylic I would charge $35 for a set. shipping in the lower 48 would be $10. can also do 3/16" for slightly cheaper. also can do colors, material price/availability varies so send me a message and I'll see what I can do. -aaron

you could get multistart acme screws and it would be much faster moving. a 1/2" 10 turn 5 start would give you two rotations per inch of linear movement

I would recommend getting steppers that are as close to the 2-amp rating of the drivers. It is 2-amps right? lol.

I copied this from another post I made: 4 wire motors are bipolar (which work) 5 wire motors are only unipolar (which won't work) 6 wire motors can be wired in bipolar series (which works just fine) or unipolar (which wont work) 8 wire motors can be wired in bipolar series (which works just fine) bipolar parallel (which will work but the amp draw requirement is high, make sure it would be less t

the parts off the stratasys were pretty nice. surprisingly not perfectly flat, and the machine was actually fairly unreliable. and took forever for builds. but the quality was good. Not impressed, i think stratasys should be worried about repraps. -aaron

fyi, the mendel set is closer to 68 cubic inches or somewhere around there....The wiki listing is wrong but i know somewhere else the correct volume is listed.

Cool. I saw your parts on thingiverse. I am okay with small amounts of redoing. but I don't want to have to redo half or something crazy. I calculated from the wiki that there is approximately 560cc of built components. or 34.17 cubic inches. can you verify this as true?

I downloaded the set of parts referenced in the wiki Are these the most current parts? I don't want to offend anyone with this post, sorry if it is duplicated etc, but i'm going to send the stl's off to the fdm printer and want to make sure that 95%+ are going to come out right. Also is there a running thread that tracks model file updates? -aaron
