As per pic, you can see the layers keep moving up in Y direction on my. Ord Bot. Should I replace the Y motor? test? Has anyone experienced this type of bug. ? The Ramps 1.4 board i have has an extra dual drive. I went and replaced the drivers from E2 to Y and uploaded the firmware. The same results. Can anyone explain to me what creates this behavior? When I tried to print a Box it resulted in type of stairs.by Janski - Printing
This process is not familiar to me. Can you explain? What are pots and 1/16turn is it the screw on the driver for Y axis? Turn left or right? Thanksby Janski - Printing
I have tightened the belts on Y axis and other axis. checked the 2560 board all looks find. anyone think it is the driver? too fast in Marlin? Please adviseby Janski - Printing
It basically moves the next layer up Y direction a few steps and continues to print proportionally to the move. HELP!by Janski - Printing
So this happened: Finally after getting the extruder to grip properly, the prints are doing this: along 2nd or 3rd layer the print unexpectedly slides over and continues in the incorrect position. Please advise if anyone has encountered this issue Sincerely, Janskiby Janski - Printing
- 12 years agoDear Makers, I have the QUBD Extruder- Using NEMA 23 motor with standard gear. "at certain points during the print, the extruder valve spout clogs" This causes a miss feed and then it stops extruding. Has anyone had this issue with QUBD extruder? If a ramps1.4 boar short circuits due to wires touching. - In this case from D10 (extruder heater) - can the MOSFETs be replaced? See Pic I have bridged the shorted route and changed to a MOSFET up to 35watts to the Voltage controlling MOSFET, however, once I start it the temperature just starts going up w/o ability to stop. Could anyone explain to me the relationship between the placement of the pins on the ramps 1.4 board to the pins.h configurations. I am having a hard time understanding how to locate individual pins. For example My Motherboard = 33. why is "#define FAN_PIN 9" what does the 9 stand for? is there a map that can be superimposed onto the ramps 1.4 blueprint to match Marlin assignments? What logic is the pins.h file following? Is it getting the numbers from another sub folder? Still new at this and having a hard time manipulating pins.h fileby Janski - Controllers

Quotecat.farmer . Does your fuse show sign of being burnt, the fuses are self reseting after they cool, unless it's been destroyed. I think you are safe to repair the board and apply power, worst case it does not work. If that is the case check the power at the fuse. The mosfet switches to ground..FYI. The fuse basically exploded in the middle of the D10 connection to MOSFET. Still new to the tby Janski - Reprappers
I played with the MOSFET pins.h settings and my method did not work. after I changed the pins.h settings back . the heater again instantly starts heating up and continues . I checked the temp on the MOSFET and it was very high 175-205 C. Is this normal or def replace the MOSFET? if so what type do I use for Ramps 1.4 boards? Best Regards, Janskiby Janski - Reprappers

Hey Cameron , Since there is a visible blown fuse between D10 and the MOSFET, does the mean the MOSFET is damaged? I checked ohm of the MOSFET and it reads 3 ohms. The 2nd extruder MOSFET has the same reading. I am using a ramps fan and would like to keep it there without changing pins.h. Do you think a simple bridge would solve the heating issue? The Extruder is QUBD. Where do you recommend getting ball bearing idler? I will look but in case you have a good source. The hotend is a .4mm Nozzle and Using 40w 5mm Heater cartridge. I moved the thermistor to the tip of the Nozzle. This seems to achieve true temp of 230 at that spot. Now the LCD and the Nozzle read the same temp. Problem is with the Filament Feeder. - 12 years agoDear cdru, Thank you for that explanation. I especially like the equation for wattage . The heat bed is fine then, it keeps temp steady at 110. Did auto tune on both heaters and now both seem to work fine. The extruder still needs so tweaks as there is a 2-4 degree variance when holding 230 for abs. Sincerely Janskiby Janski - General
Hey Makers, Current Ord Project is giving me 2 issues at printing stage: 1. Display of temp Heater Block vs Hot End Spout .4 is inconsistent. I have measured the temp of the tip of the hot end @ 200-230C . The Heat Block @ 256/260 maxed out. Do I have to move the thermistor to the end of the endstop extrusion spot or can I keep it between the block and the tip? My thinking is that it would theby Janski - Printing

Hey Dave3d, I just bought a 12 v 40w Professional Strain Reflief Heater for 3d Printers (5mm OD). Software is still running on the old Kp Ki Kd setting from the old RD59 resistor. - 12 years agoDear Makers, What is the optimal wire size for HeatBed? Currently using 14 gauge. Is that too thick? Heat bed is having issues with maintaining temp at 110.C Reason I ask is because the 40w 5mm Heater Cartridge I just purchased is either 18 or 20 gauge. Sincerely, Janskiby Janski - General
