Exactly WHEN was this clause added to the website? I may have very well joined before it existed. And exactly what is the relationship between RRRF.org websites and Reprap.org websites? I thought the whole point was to separate the commercial side (store) from the non-commercial side (the forums, etc). Should not be an issue to setup video conferencing. I have co-located internet servers I can use for online meeting point if we want more than strictly point to point. I also have 12 Linux+WIndows compatible cameras (I'm not kidding) for a home security project I am working on. Ok, the elimination of the "Darwin" forum I consider a pretty big mistake. I think this forum really needs to focus on TWO major divides: 1) BUILDING and USING RepRap 2) Everything else RepRap Building and Using =============================== Word choice is difficult... but basically I see three RepRap pre-construction / construction / help with / support forums: 1. I think it is in the interest of the powers to be to resolve this issue quickly. Personally I don't wish to waste more of my time pointing out all the existing issues this creates for how RRRF has been run to date. And the long term ways that this policy actually discourages people from working on and building RepRap. What does it take to get some kind of closure on this issue? Zach is the one who started this with a recent posting... but I have plenty to say on the matter 1) Users groups really need to be hosted on another PAGE or consolidated. I see no reason to have cities and should be regions... or frankly just one forum for all users groups. Yesterday in Houston we had our second meeting where we worked on RepRap for 5+ hours... and we had two assembled extruders. There seesm to be common desire/recognition for a more robust extruder... Thanks for the great write-up. We even had visitors from the Pizza place asking about RepRap and I also experienced similar while I was in Brooklyn working on my laptop (I was in Brooklyn for 10 days and ate out for every meal, so was often in public places working on my laptop for a few hours a day). Howdy, Like Steve DeGroof, I've destroyed a couple of my thermistors experimenting (mostly clogging my extruder up with HDPE). Getting ready to order more... I think this is great information, if for anything it puts the support extruder into the spotlight... the importance of it. As a lot of the RepStrap designs don't seem to be concerned about support material.... Personally I think it is best we try to avoid any kind of special library that has anti-commercial restrictions. In particular CloudGarden's Jigloo Is this used heavily in the RepRap host software? It seems to me that it really isn't hard to code some of the places it is used (the extruder profiler dialog uses it, we are talking a simple GUI window with 6 or 8 controls). Starting to dig into the RepRap host software a bit.... I'm using the Ardrino electronics which I understand emulate the PIC.... I notice temps jump from: current temp 253.37409728877196 to current temp 277.33466086834505 Looking at the code, there seems to be a "raw" temperature that is based on value numbers 3 or 4 (looks to me this is what the electronics are sending to the host computer).by RoundSparrow - Plastic Extruder Working Group

So the RepRap Host software Extruder Exerciser... It doesn't seem to turn off the heater when the desired temperature is reached. It just seems to be a GUI control with no underlying intelligence. In fact, it will keep heater on forever...
