QuoteMrDoctorDIV Personally, I don't believe in aged PLA or ABS filament. I've stored mine in not a single clean or kept dry environment, just sat in whatever living room of the time. Over a year old and printing hasn't changed. Could very well be that is the end of the roll though, not because of age but because of a bad manufacturer. Have you tried with a different roll or do you only have one?by Capinho - Printing
Thanks for quick reply. Extrusion steps/mm are calibrated, I get exactly 100 mms extruded after I request 100 mms. I was printing with same settings before, everything was ok, could it be thermistor? Or maybe the end of the plastic roll, so the PLA quality became worse?by Capinho - Printing
Hello, my print quality became very bad somehow. Prints are now brittle, fragile, not shiny and rough. Could it be hotend too hot? I am printing PLA at 190 degrees. Maybe it is thermistor issue? Thanks.by Capinho - Printing
My printer is 3drag. I am using black 3mm PLA, 190 hotend, 60/55 heatbed. Extruder is calibrated for steps/mm. Print speed is 50 mm/s. Extrusion multiplier 0.96. I am using Cura. Layer height 0.25mm, 0.6mm shell thickness. Anything else I could tell you? Thanksby Capinho - Printing
Hello everyone. An issue I am facing: What could cause the red (horizontal) gaps? About the blue (vertical) texture, I think that is belts problem? I am currently waiting for GT2 belts and pulleys. Am I right about the issue causing this texture? thanksby Capinho - Printing
Thank You very much for your reply. I am planning to upgrade to E3D hotend, what nozzle and filament size you suggest/prefer? Also, what do you mean by saying "reatraction is a little bit off"? Do you mean i should increase reatraction distance and speed or decrease it? Thanks once againby Capinho - Printing
I have printed the treeforg, here are the results. It seems, like too much of plastic is being extruded? Anyone?by Capinho - Printing
Hello everyone. I am using a Velleman K8200 printer (It is actually RepRap 3Drag). I get pretty good quality when printing big solid objects, but when it comes to small objects and a lot of details, the quality is poor. Any ideas, what settings to change or could that be hardware issue? Thanks for every piece of advice. I am adding some photos (This was supposed to be the Ultimaker robot): Eby Capinho - Printing
Is it possible with PLA?by Capinho - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Hello, I have found this phone cover and I am interested, if it is possible to print one of these with prusa i3? I think, the way to do it is to print a flat cover, turn it upside down, and print the skull on it. Any other ideas? [3dpcase.sculpteo.com]by Capinho - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Hello everyone, I am building Prusa i3 myself. I have question about the rods. Do they have to be some kind of hardened steel or other "special material" or regular steel is enough? I am asking this, because I have no idea about the stress, friction in rods and bearings. Thanksby Capinho - Mechanics
QuoteRalph.Hilton Yes. I have a Mendel90 myself so my data on the i3 is from my reading up 8 months ago when I decided that the Mendel90 looked like a better machine to go with. The printed parts you listed appear to fit with the aluminium sheet they supply but that is expensive. A quick check on ebay shows this: Please get another opinion as to whether or not that is the version you need thougby Capinho - General Mendel Topics
QuoteRalph.Hilton I don't think the Arduino Uno has enough flash memory for the firmware you need. Marlin takes around 64k and the Uno only has 32k. The hotend looks a bit expensive - I would check around more. The extruder needs a hobbed bolt. The printed parts don't look correct if you are making a frame yourself. Thank You very much for helping me out. About the printed parts, as I know, thereby Capinho - General Mendel Topics
Thank you very much, i will look forward to buying these parts.by Capinho - General Mendel Topics
Hello everyone. Im completely new into this area, so some help would be appreciated. I want to build Prusa i3 but I have limited budget, so I will be building it from separate parts. This is the list I have currently made, please tell the parts I am missing. I will build the frame and the rods myself, also I have Arduino UNO controller, which will be used to control the motors. What is more, I hby Capinho - General Mendel Topics
Hello everyone, I'm new here. I am interested in building Prusa i3. As I looked around, I found everyone using Arduino MEGA with RAMPS shield for controling motors. Maybe anyone knows if RAMPS would fit Arduino UNO? Or are there any shields for UNO to control the motors? Thanks in advice.by Capinho - Controllers
