Standardising the mount of the toolhead/coldend/hotend would definately be a first step towards automatic/easier tool changes. The standard could define a hybrid mounting system: it can be used like normal (fasten the toolhead with screws) or it can be used as a quick-snap system where the toolhead latches into the mount. Es fehlt halt überall an Vergleichbarkeit und Übersicht. Um festzustellen, welche Variante (mit welchen upgrades) man denn nun überhaupt bauen möchte, muss man die Wiki, dem github, das Forum, thingiverse, mehrere blogs, das GRRF wiki und andere Quellen durchsuchen. Meist kann man dann erstmal raten, welche Veränderungen im Vergleich zum 'standard' Darwin/Mendel/Prusa/Huxley vorgenommen worden siby SarahMiller - Offtopic

I've been working with a pick'n'place machine during one of my internships. In the following, I'll talk about a heavy duty industial pnp machine, but I think a lot of that could be applied to RepRap. Before the PCB was placed in the machine, solder paste was applied with a stencil. The machine was packed with several 'feeders', which in turn held the spools with the smd parts or the rails withby SarahMiller - Pick-and-Place Electronic Assembly (and robots!)

Es ist halt einfacher, das Rad neu zu erfinden, als den Spaghetticode ohne Soße aus dem alten Rad zu schlürfen. Das Problem is einfach, dass den meisten Leuten die Erfahrung im Software Engineering fehlt und dass meistens spezifische ad-hoc Lösungen geschrieben werden statt über einer generellen Lösung zu brüten. Fehlende Strukturierung tut dann ihr übriges. Vielfach ist auch 'Ich komme aus Facby SarahMiller - Offtopic

The easiest way to stop automated spam is a captcha: Require the user to read text/numbers from an image and type them down. Pro: Lots of ready to use solutions available. Couldn't you infuse the color directly into the liquid plastic just as it's dispensed? That way, the color would be spread relatively uniform in each 'blob'. Alternatively, in what way do the colors of different fibers mix? (Probably additive, but we're definately not geting something as simple as RGB or CMYK).
