Actually inside/beside of interpolation algorithm should taken care of ramping for steppers. So this it should be done in microcontroller. What I deducted it's that the laziest motor would affect the performance on other axes just because those movements must be synchronized. If the main movement it's made by the "major" axis it's on the fastest motor , than the laziest may not draw back the faby dandumit - RepRap Host
Bottom line. Have you implemented BResenham 3D with ramping ? or simple constant speed? I was considering to write a test on a microcontroller and I am little confused about situation when motors from 3 axes have different maximum speed and different accelerations. Any hint would be wellcome. REgards, Danielby dandumit - RepRap Host

Looking on examples that are provided with OpenCV , one of them it's interesting : squares.exe - finds squares on a image. Sortly makes some filtering, a canny to find edges , findcountours and determine if contours are rectangle. This technique may be used to find resistors and condensers. It think that for all components must be found the contour.by dandumit - Pick-and-Place Electronic Assembly (and robots!)

I have toked the OpenCV book and I'm playing with samples provided. As a fist step I will do a small application that will recognize a rectangle, display it's center position and rotation. I have a digital microscope as you suggested and I'm "looking" with it at a 1206 resistor. @BalanceSeeker - reccomended Hough Transform I will look at it. Second step this first executable will become an Actby dandumit - Pick-and-Place Electronic Assembly (and robots!)

Interesting thread. Anyone has progress on this ? I am investigating some options for using OpenCV. I would be glad to exchange info with others pasionates on this subject. REgards, Danielby dandumit - Pick-and-Place Electronic Assembly (and robots!)
1. ReplicatorG - do you know any support forum for it ? I have tried to use it but I receive some errors and I don't know the normal behavior . It shoudn't show at least the gcodes in that text box ? I have tryed version 008 and 007 (even if it shows 006 on form) Or maybe cannot load directly Gcodes... 2. Firmware - I would try rather to compile the C source code with AVR GCC. It's there any coby dandumit - RepRap Host
Hi, Interesting question. I would like too to find the answer. Until now I have installed the REplicatorG and I have tried to load a file. Unfortunately doesn't seems to run properly : does not show the content of file and when I try to run an Estimation I receive : Exception in thread "Estimation Thread" java.lang.NullPointerException Regards, Danielby dandumit - RepRap Host
