And to isolate the problem in a process of eliminaton fashion: Start with your z Homed, and get a measurment. Move your z up (at different speeds) in various amounts, and measure again making sure your z is moving how far it's supposed to and not slipping. If you don't rule out slipping/missed steps you can play with firmware all day long and it's not going to help.by xclusive585 - General
Absolutely. My z endstop situation is a mess. And I do need a better mount. I will find a more suitable mount or make one, just haven't had time this week as work laid off more people and guess who gets to pick up even more slack...by xclusive585 - General
Should be a little easier, but heatsink compound does tend to solidify over time (As someone who has removed too many old pc heatsinks to count...). And, our resistors are MUCH hotter than the temps most heatsink compound will normally see. I don't know how that will affect it in the long run. That said, I'm using arctic silver on my resistor and thermistors, it seems great, my temp readings arby xclusive585 - General

I have issues with Mech stops on my z. I feel they are fine for X/Y, but Z needs something accurate. I think a better mechanical endstop with a more solid mount is needed on my z, if not I may try optical or proximity based like viktor uses (yes those are as much as 100$ each...) There is also a possibility of getting my hands on some of these used laser sensors, I doubt those will have issuesby xclusive585 - General
Parallel Robot. Correction: Linear Delta. QuoteSeveral "linear delta" arrangements have been developed where the motors drive linear actuators rather than rotating an arm. Such linear delta arrangements can have much larger working volumes than rotational delta arrangementsby xclusive585 - Delta Machines

I'm still rather impressed with the quality we currently do. And I cannot believe how "crappy" DA is making our method sound. Some of the quality I see around here is amazing. And even on my toy of a prusa I can get some stunningly nice looking prints, especially considering that machine was a pile of parts assembled and setup by my own two hands, costing around 500$ total.
