Ok, so in the end I can confirm my Wantai 42BYGHW609s are fine indeed. No issues. I am very pleased. I have all of my cheap pololu driver's vrefs around 270mv or less, with the exception of the extruder motor which is about 350mv, it gets warm, but not warm enough to soften my PLA parts. Ran a 7 hour print last night, the motors were all within normal temp ranges, and while being a little noisyby xclusive585 - General Mendel Topics

Being as how their website doesn't give specifics, perhaps you could give a ballpark of what 10lbs costs including shipping from New Image?by xclusive585 - General

Looking forward to this... And with some professional builds of this machine out there we could start to see filament cost drop a little out there. :-)by xclusive585 - General
This is a surprisingly dead thread considering the topic at hand here. Good, simple, easy to find hardware, that can comprise a cheap 3d scanner? This seems too cool. And the software spits out .STLs? If I had a kinect I'd get on the beta.by xclusive585 - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
So the noise from the buzzer and malfunctioning encoder, was simply an oversight on my part, I missed a couple changes in my pins.h. Once I made the changes in the firmware and uploaded it again it was smooth sailing. Bench tested everything tonight, and the motors are doing fine at well under 1A, so far so good. I guess now it's just time to build this thing. :-D I'm sure I'll update when I'mby xclusive585 - General
I bench tested my full assembly of electronics and motors tonight. I am having no issues driving the 609s with a Vref of 280mv, so I'm somewhere well under half of the motors 1.7a rating and they still seem to have plenty of torque. So far everything is looking good with these little motors.by xclusive585 - General Mendel Topics
I have the same motors as the OP, I will update with my results after I build my Prusa. Hoping he was just unlucky.by xclusive585 - General Mendel Topics
Hello, I'm new here and new to Reprap besides the months of planning I've been doing and purchising kits and parts. I have everything I need to assemble my reprap minus a piece of glass for the heatbed, and some shrinktube or similar. So I have recently moved on to the firmware phase and initial bench testing. My setup: Prusa Ramps 1.4 mega2560 kit (reprapdiscount) with ultimaker click-encoder/by xclusive585 - General
I'll start with, I'm new to 3D printing. My reprap is in pieces and is brand new and unassembled. I have no prior experience. But, I have spent months researching and learning as I plan on making my first reprap a top-notch machine within it's first few upgrades after initial build. I also have a life of practical mechanical and electrical experience both professionally and as a hobbiest, and hby xclusive585 - General
