That sounds expensive lol, wouldnt affect the properties of the ABS though?by CPS - Developers
There is also a carbon based filament too = electronics =) Yay everyone buy 80% gold, only going to cost about $1million for a decent sized print, we all have $1m+ laying around lolby CPS - Developers
how about something similar to this: How powerful of a laser will you need (would you need lower wattage laser(s) with smaller powder particle size?) A fiber optic laser seems like a good option.by CPS - MetalicaRap
Sorry meant metal powder. Aren't you able to do lost cast with plastic (ABS or PLA can't remember)?by CPS - Developers
Sure design a printer that can etch copper into silicon wafers accurate to sub-22nm cpu are already 3d printer (not really), you just need a billion dollar factoryby CPS - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Is there a possible reprap SLS 3d printer?by CPS - Developers
in order to do this, there has to be a stable part directly below to where you are spraying, would it be possible to do 6-axis with this method?by CPS - Developers
Just some thoughts: Extruding straight rods in 1 direction would be much easier than the current setup for reprap (vertically above and sticking to the layer below). Maybe you can come up with a design to extrude from the y direction instead of from the z direction (flipping reprap 90 degrees). The pressure you would need would be huge though. Probably could use very very very thin aluminum rodsby CPS - Developers
@dronus, The purpose of this project is to do multi-color 3d printer, mixing several materials will be challenging yes, but not useless @Simba, how do you control the flow of powder to the hot end? Also, according to Jacqyard Products: "Works great on paper, clay, metal, wood or plastic and cleans up easily with water." Wouldn't it just get washed out if the plastic part gets wet? The idea is tby CPS - Developers
Ideas much appreciated (Very very rough write-up) Phase 1: Design of hardware+software Extruder-Hot End Extruder-Cold End Modifications to Extruder Carriage Motor Selection Cable Management (electronics and filament) Software Phase 2: Analysis of color mixing proportions (calibrate model colors to %'s of each color required) Phase 3: Improvements and updates Info needed: PCB to support 10-11by CPS - Developers
