QuoteVDX ... my thest show that the actually best single-diode solution for cutting wood is the 3.5W-diode - here the energy density and power is enough to cut 4mm plywood with 4 passes. I'll estimate, for cutting in a single pass with 445nm you'll need roughly 10 Watts on a spot of 0.1mm - so either two combined 6W-diodes, 4 of the 3.5W-types, or a CO2-laser with >20Watts on a spot of 0.2mmby blim - Laser Cutter Working Group

- 10 years agoHaving trouble getting this controller work. When turning the rotary encoder nothing happens. When I push it I get to a menu, but it is not possible to scroll down the menu. Display works fine, but it is useless if I'm not able to navigate with the turn knob. Controller is the one pictured earlier in this thread from Robotale.by blim - General
Thank you. I have configured soft limits, and that works for most cases. However if one gets lost steps due to for example crashing into a warped print there should be some hard limits to stop the machine when hitting its end switches. Both Ramps and Marlin support 6 switch setup, so it should work, and I don't see why it doesn't work for me..by blim - RAMPS Electronics
Hi, Just finished designing and building a printer based on ramps 1.4 running on Marlin. End stops are Mech Endstops v1.2 wired with 3 wires. I use end stops in both ends of each axis to prevent crashing if running to far out. The end stops works just fine when i connect to the printer, if I run one of the axis and hit the corresponding end stop the stepper will stop. The same when running a homiby blim - RAMPS Electronics
