Thanks, VDX - that sounds like a great idea. Do you have any specific coating on it? Zincalume? Galvanised?by mericanpi - Laser Cutter Working Group
Hi there I did do a search, and could not find an answer, so I thought I'd ask. I've made a bracket to turn my homebrew 3d printer into a laser cutter. I've a 5w laser and wiring all set, I just need to know what is safe to cut over. Currently, there is a Ultrabase by anycubic, which I believe would probably be destroyed by the laser - I would most likely need to put some felt down and clamp someby mericanpi - Laser Cutter Working Group
Thank you, Dust. Yes, it is enabled, always has been. At this time I only get the console messages on pronterface. I mentioned that if I unplugged an SPI cable I got a list of error messages, so I assume that it is working to a point. Does the terminal window deliver all the log messages that come from the chip? If this is the case, the chip is registering no errors and no boundaries reached, aby mericanpi - Firmware - Marlin
It's been a few days, I guess either nobody has any clue, or just aren't interested. I know I didn't explain myself well to begin with, I've been tinkering on this for a month or so (hence having time to order parts and try them) and apart from getting the stealthchop to work (it didn't initially) I couldn't figure out why the endstops weren't functioning. This is my second 3d printer build, myby mericanpi - Firmware - Marlin
Hi, Again Dust I just want to confirm I am using x and y min pinsby mericanpi - Firmware - Marlin
I'm sorry, I should have given more info. Yes, this is the diagram I used, as well as the second page with the SPI wiring. (Thomas Sanladerer's youtube). Today I tried Chris Ryley's guide to configuring Marlin (I had the same problem with Tom's, thought I'd try another run-through by someone else). I also set up the stepper current using Mytechtips. (another youtube) I've tried two sets of drby mericanpi - Firmware - Marlin
Thank you, Dust If I pull an SPI pin I get a heap of error messages. It is the only verification I know how to find. Can you suggest a better way? I have just disabled the pull-up - but still lets me grind past the stop.by mericanpi - Firmware - Marlin
Hi there I've set upon the task of installing TMC2130s to a Ramps 1.4 system. I've followed every guide, wired it up correctly, and configured everything I can find in Marlin. The solder jumpers are set correctly. I've fiddled with every setting I know how to do. I've even adjusted the current potentiometers. 1) I suspect the chip endstops are not working correctly. If it homes it tends to griby mericanpi - Firmware - Marlin
Thank you so much! Fixed in 5 seconds, you just saved me heaps!!by mericanpi - Reprappers
Hi there! I have a weird issue that I hoped someone may shed some light on! I am trying to calibrate my extruder, at the factory firmware setting (320 or something) it shot out about 320mm of ABS, so I adjusted it to the calculated ratio (I only wanted 100mm). The problem was it seems to have very little affect on the output. I request 100mm of cable and still get around 300mm of 1.7mm outputby mericanpi - Reprappers
OH WHAT!!! C"MON!!!! Noob error of the century. Wish that was documented somewhere, would have been good information to have. Thanks to you all!!! I fired it up this morning, reflashed the firmware to factory resolution and it worked first time. There's a heap of time I'll never get back Thank you so much !!!by mericanpi - General
Hi I have been trying to fix this for months, so now I have resorted to posting it here for some help. I have a homebuild printer, with Ramps 1.4, A4988 drivers. I am using Repetier to manually drive my machine while I sort out the kinks. I am jumpered for 1/16, I have tried 1/8 too. Everything now works except the extruder stepper. (including thermister) I am using the Repetier firmware, I haby mericanpi - General
