Wow, thanks that did the trick, but told me everything was at the newest version and installed. So much for that. This is very strange was hoping it was a software problem, the printer has been sitting covered on a table with nothing changed, the only thing that changed was many updates to my Linux. Anybody have any ideas how to tackle this? Thanks everyone for your help so far! Dave

I dont seam to have a dependency wxpython described in the github, but cant figure out how to install it because the source for 12.04 - precise dosnt exist yet, think this may be the problem any ideas anyone?

I have no idea what version I'm using there is no about button in mine, but it is the same version that worked a couple months ago. The thing about the temps is sometimes the temps come up fine so the values should be ok, it just seams the interface is unstable it did the same things in the past but if I kept restarting the interface it would eventually at least print. I’m using Linux and running pronterface in the terminal, everything worked great, then walked away for a couple months and now wont print, it just sits there forever, however I can control everything using the interface. pronterface also seams very unstable (It seams it would be a cool feature if pronterface had a problem it would tell you about it other than just sitting there forever doing noth

RepRapPro Mendel Extruder drive improvement. - 12 years ago

It was a massive pain in the but to get the shaft to line up when putting together my extruder drive. So what I did was put a small drill bit through the feed holes to keep it in place and used my dremel to cut a notch in the end of the shaft so I could hold the shaft in place while adjusting and tightening the nuts. Just a tip to make things easier. Dave

I'm very sorry if I upset anyone, it wasn't intended to. But as a noob I wish things were layed out better all the Rep Rap info is there, its just spread around so much. All you guys have been great and I appreciate the help. Thanks again, Dave

Thanks Andy you don't know how much I appreciate the help, its very frustrating to have such a cool printer and to be plagued by people writing instructions and assumeing others know what there talking about, I wrote a how to book once and let a friend read it and pointed out my flaws, you cant assume people know what youre talking about. OMG the build instructions for the Medel, what a mess! Tha

My big problems now are documentation such as a list of commands for pronterface.py and a manual for Skeinforge. I googled skeinforge manual and found some but get access denied messeges. The calibration instructions say change this, adjust that etc. but don't tell where these settings can be found, there are like 30 buttons in the slicing menu. Plus it would be nice to know how to control things

I just finished my reprap mendel and was able to load and print the test.stl file, but then I went and downloaded other files like the bed cooling fan mod and the mendel stl for all the pieces and whenever I try to load one of the files, it doesn't show up in the window where the picture of the part should be and print isn't highlighted. Im a total noob, of coarse! Thanks in advance, oh I'm using

If I go into the folder and double click on "skeinforge.py" Gedit opens up the file.

I a total noob to this as well as Ubuntu, which is what I'm running this on. When I open Prointerface and try to go into Slicing setings all I get is a message in the message box saying "Entering skeinforge settings: python ./skeinforge/skeinforge_application/skeinforge.py" No new window ever opens it just sits there, please help! Thanks in advance! Dave
