Hi! Do somebody know on what the Mendel is supposed to stand? I always thought on the 4 frame-vertex. As I have put together the frame all the bearings under the frame are lower than the four corners (frame-vertex). Now I want to put the z threaded rod, but the gears are the lowest points of the machine. So it does not stand anymore. Can anybody clear this up for me please? In doubt I can puby khiraly - Mechanics
Yes, you are right, the top part has the two M4 too. I was thinking of making a similar part. But the M4 would be still required, as this part is bended a bit for me. So better with the two additional M4.by khiraly - Mechanics
Thank you guys. Indead I downloaded the .zip file, because it was easier. However at this specific example I think the solution like at the top would be better. Because the threaded rod is already there, and we could also spare two M4 nyloc nuts and bolts. Im thinking at modifing the z-bar-top-clamp_4off.stl part. There is a 60mm hole-hole distance, if we modify it to be 45mm, than it would beby khiraly - Mechanics
Hi! Im building mendel, and the z-leadscrew-base_2off.stl and the z-leadsrew-base-bar-clamp_2off.stl does not match. The z-leadscrew-base-bar-clamp has two small holes, while the z-leadscrew-base does not have one. Here is a picture: I double checked the z-leadscrew-base_2off.stl, and it is the same on the computer what I printed off. (except my printer freezed half hour befor the end), butby khiraly - Mechanics

Im using linear shaft. (you can buy at the same place where the linear bearings). It is the best quality.by khiraly - Mechanics
Hi! I have finished building the X stage of Mendel. At Y stage, I should mount the thick sheet to the machine. However Im unable to locate the drawings of the sheets. Could somebody help me? Im talking about the transparent sheets of this drawing: 4mm acrylic should be fine, no? I will publish (hopefully) tomorrow about my progress on my blog: Best regards, Khiralyby khiraly - Mechanics
nophead: and what do you do, with layers, which are really small? My machine shakes a lot at 16mm/s, so I fear to go faster... But I would like to hear some data of an Mendel owner. What is the highest speed, etc. But honestly knowing all this tricks and playing with skeinforge takes time. Im already playing (ie. finetuning mine) more than a month now. And I almost printed a full set of Mendelby khiraly - For Sale
> I think the Mendel prints substantially faster then 16mm/s and doesn't > have any problem printing its own parts in PLA. I dont think 32 or 64mm/s extrusion speed can be achieved without altering the extrusion speed in the middle of printing. I would not mind printing the raft at 32mm/s. But when the layer is really small, the machine shakes a lot. Although Im only building the Mendelby khiraly - For Sale
> Funny thing is, Mendels seem to do a pretty good job of making Mendel > parts with sufficient accuracy and strength. smiling smiley There are some difficult parts, where it does make sense to order it. Namely Im thinking of: z-leadscrew-base_2off.stl (2*51.87$) x-carriage-lower_1off.stl (43.67$) x-carriage-upper_1off.stl (37.70$) I think the two most difficult parts are x-carriage-loby khiraly - For Sale

Reid: sorry I need to research more to shipping to the US. So while shipping in EU costs about 50-60EUR to me, shipping to the US costs about 250EUR to me, and I dont know the duty details. So Im really sorry, but I plan to start in EU first, but definietly I will crack the nut of shipping to the US later. Yepp, nice to see the other end of the price range!;-) I would like to know, how much time is required to print the full set. 1 hours?;-) 24hours? 168hours?by khiraly - For Sale
Hi! How was your ABS ordering going? I would like to get 50-100kg of ABS. Are you still around? Best regards, Khiralyby khiraly - For Sale
> I know it's a lot of work but there simply is no way to get a mendel > together without those printed parts, and I'm willing to pay for your > work! If you really want to pay somebody's work, keep in mind, that printing a full set is about 2 weeks. Im already printing since 3 weeks (ok Im fighting with bugs. keep finetuning), so I assume 2 weeks can be achieved. So paying 150 euroby khiraly - Wanted
> There are many ways to do it. Laser printer is one of the best ones, I agree. And a tedious one. Especially for two sided pcbs. You simply cant finish with a pcb under an hour. No matter how good you are. I would consider using a darwin with a dremel head much more effective. Less labour work in the process.by khiraly - General
I have printed about 40 parts for Mendel, and I keep finetuning all my settings. I suffer from pretty serious bugs too. The thing is, that there are parts, where only the raft takes 1.30 hours to print... So until I dont have 5-10 machine continously working I cant really offer RP parts to the public. I'm working parallel on other issues, like hunting down suppliers, talking with manufacturers,by khiraly - For Sale
In the next week, I try to get quotes from major delivery companies (dpd, fedex, ups, etc) to the USA.by khiraly - For Sale
As for the price, I cant you say for sure the final prices, because I didnt get yet the belts. But for the other parts I have competitive prices. So I can say for sure the final prices 'til the end of the next week. As for shipping to the US, to be honest, I have zero knowledge. So if somebody wants to work with me, to figure out a cheap shipping avaibility, the duty, he is more then welcome. Iby khiraly - For Sale
Hi! I plan to sell Mendel kits. However before ramping up the RP parts production, I can offer right away the complete mechanical kit (belt, threaded rod, bar, nuts, bolts, etc) without the RP parts. I can send it inside EU without problem. As for the price (I didnt finish all my calculations), but I think I can offer them at the same or (hopefully) lower prices, as what is listed in the Mendel-by khiraly - For Sale
Maybe its a little too early, but Im intend to sell full mechanical kit (for mendel). But I need to kick off some bottleneck before. I only printed half set of a mendel... The job needs to be not underestimated, a full set of Mendel parts counts 98 pieces from which are 42 individual. There are a handfull parts which prints under an hour at 16mm/s. And there are parts which prints under a fullby khiraly - Wanted
There was a chinese option, which was about 200$ for 100kg + shipping (700$?)by khiraly - Wanted
Hi! Im planning to invest into some plastic. So I want to buy 100kg of 3mm ABS, do somebody know some really cheap options? I have read in this forum some time back, that someone from italy wanted to buy 100kg of ABS, but I cant find the post anymore. I know one option: 100*40GBP from bitsfrom bytes (4000 GBP), its out of my pocket:-( Best regards, Khiralyby khiraly - Wanted
I have made a singlesided version some time ago. (and actually made 3 boards at home) However I propose you the stepper driver version 2.x not the 1.2. The allegro chip is much nicer, and does not require any heatsink.by khiraly - Controllers
greenarrow: The 2D part seems very usable (2d Drafting), make sure the drafting module is installed (the ubuntu .deb does not contain it, I needed to add it myself). In 3D, I could not do much either...by khiraly - RepRap Host
Judging from your screenshot you are planing to work only with meshes. I think working with parts (sphere, cylinder, box, cone, etc) is much more accurate modelling. However Im a real noob. I cant figure out the basics. So I think we should model some basic mendel parts, to get started with this wonderful program. So if somebody manage to do some basic stuffs, please share!by khiraly - RepRap Host
> Sounds like you are giving it about 60 steps/second. Is that as fast as it will go? 60 steps/second with a 6mm diameter threaded rod means 1mm/s. Thats about right. I think you and nophead suggesting 8mm/s and even 16mm/s. Am I right? I will test it and makes video.by khiraly - Mechanics
