just been through something similar.. the exstrusion rates need to be close (steps for E motor) after that theres an adjuster in the slicer setting that tweeksthe exstrusion width,to the desired or what you can acheive is subject to quolity..unfortunatly. after the extrusions right, watch the plastic as it comes out the end, ideally it comes out like ice cream and 'pours' almost ahead of time,by munchit1 - General
anything constructed from bars bounce n wobble more than a solid acrylic frame(big bag of nylo nuts springs to mnd though..), but...yu can adjust literaly every aspect of axis alignment on the bar build version, regaurding which prusa to get? theyre all the same design, with diferent pritty colours and box's added..mendles prusa's..take a look at the builds to see whats in them. take a look atby munchit1 - General
ok, finaly learned to tolerate the bed levaling endless cycle of screw a little bit..then the other then the other lol! sheesh. i will be setting up bed levaling for a try (on the smoothie board) but to the question. what figure actualy goes into the Zoffset box? the way i'm seeing it is it, the bounse minous the gap? e.g. 1mm bounce off of the end stop trigger and a 0.3 gap giving 1-0.3=0.7..by munchit1 - General
if your careful with a flat blade, you can plean a lot of smaller irregularities out, by carefully shaving off the top layer of uht glue, the next coating is then more even....but if your beds bent, its bent.by munchit1 - General
thats pritty much the jist of it mechabits its a bit dificult adjusting the bed for y axis being out lol..by munchit1 - General
or you could try the spirit leval app on your samsung fone.by munchit1 - General

you can reverse the motor directions in the software..very easily, in marlin i think its set to true or faulse or some such. on the smoothie its add an exclantion mark '!' job dun.by munchit1 - General
Quotet0bb Quotelynspyre Hey t0bb, can you post the stock firmware that is working great for you?. I don't own a TAZ, but i had Repetier 0.92 on my firmware, and had to move to marlin, and got a similar issue. I found that Marlin has merged the Max Acceleration from all steppers into a single value shared for them, this cause the Z axis (which requires more steps per unit) to overshoot and spindby munchit1 - General

i'm just a newbie at it, but the smoothie board is now in use, a lot of user applicasions are very easy to grasp, some a little cloudy..i found the web sight forum useless to me, but they do answer other peoples so its worth a try lol. first and utmost...you've got to set up by the book, measured filoment ect...i pissed about in the bigging trying to rush it, yes i learnt some things but its farby munchit1 - General
has any one sorted the bed levaling out on the smoothie board yet? using the inductive sencors? and yes i've read re read and triple read the web site for smoothie boards, even joined in the gayaties on the forum..no use tu man nor beast to me as yet..........by munchit1 - General
spell checkers tend to change context.. trust me i know, it cost me cat points at uni a few years back, its better to leave them and eye it later...dyslexia may be anoting to those reading it but sheeeesh try writing it all yu life !! lolol. sorted.. using a 0.8 nozzle 1mm wide extrutions, there was too much plastic contracting, lowered the layer height, slowed it right down, sorted. now fur thby munchit1 - General
no one...i must have the lergy lol...by munchit1 - General
hi all, thwarted week and a half to find the board had died.. put a new one on, everything set up again and now on a larger print the filoment just pings loose and drags about? if i prnt a base the first layer at 10mm/s sticks in place but every strand is seperate, even though its right next to each other and actually looks good. filoments set right, beds leval, extrution...motors not skippinby munchit1 - General
ermm.. 17 hours later and only a kilo more....still got a big arsed gap at the start of any perimiter line..corner, or on a flat or even on a rounded corner.. any clues at all peeps?by munchit1 - General

and finally.. is there something relavent here at all? maybe the default nax feed rate is too low? Using slicer through reptier.. retraction is off a skirt prints and joins ok, but still leaves a blob.. i've changeed a few settings in merlin and repetier to no joy. after the skirt prints, the first line goes down and deposits a big blob at the end of the line.. then leaves a 2 mill string space and then continues to print ok. each 'join' is the same as the previous with the blob effecting andby munchit1 - General

i've no idia what the motors are tbh.. theyre 48mm deep, and theres no miss stepping up to around 70mm/s, higher speeds on shorter travell, infill starts kicking a bit at that speed at around a 3 inch long a strip, every 5 ot 6 pass it clunk then shuts up for 4 or 5.. i've looked at the geared steppers, and it'll be a while before i think on buying a set up.. £125 is about the average i've beeby munchit1 - General
thank you digital dentist, i'll have a play with that. hi all, why are the wade exstruders liked? the ones with cogged wheels.. all i can think of is even with the gear reduction the top speed of the average nema 17 is fast enough to 'go faster', because the torque produced is much higher so no slipping. is that the jist of it? or is there more to it? finer controll over the flow of plastic maybe?by munchit1 - General
sheesh i thought 14 hours was longggggg...even worse when it ended as bin fodder lol. 12 doesnt seem to far fetched to me...as it keeps arrizing. i do have plans for later and i suspect 2-3 day prints...we'll see how that goes later in the day, much later.by munchit1 - General
i've been looking at building one my self, but, i took the buy a cheepy route, and use that to make parts.. in one sence it worth it just for the exsperience, and of course going through the teething faizes... already screwed a glass bed up and melted a teflon liner..broke a bit in a nozzle etc..ehhh yu know lol. but all said and done, the second i opened the box and assembled (having never seenby munchit1 - General
