Johnyradio, what is your goal with this rant? it seams a bit confused. Are you wanting to point out that we have not reached that goal stated on the web page? Is it to point out the evils of possible self replication? All you seam to do is point out that we have not reached that one goal yet. No one has said that we have. I do not see what you are trying to get at.

The Reprap also goes a step beyond "replication". It is not just trying to make a clone, it is trying to make something better. Each revolution must exhibit evolution. Otherwise you just end up with crap making more crap.

Item:
TechZone Huxley With Hotbed
Item Condition:
Assembled and printing but not tuned yet.
I purchased this about 3 months ago and assembled it over the last month. However, I need the money and am selling a few things to pay for Dr. bills. I have gotten it up and printing but the quality is not usable yet. I am having a bit of trouble timing the filament feed. Also, I have the hot bed f

I am looking to buy a reprap that is up and running and fairly reliable. I would like it with as small a printing tip as possibly with a glass heated bed.
in a side note I have a Techzone Huxley that I am going to be getting rid of so I would be willing to trade and make up the difference if anyone is interested in one. It has a heated bed and a few other modifications. It prints but I am having

I am looking at getting a heated bed for my Huxley from Techzone. anyone ever gotten one? Is it something simple to connect or is it going to be a whole new thing to figure out and go wrong?

I feel that I am going to end up using a heated bed, but want to see what you surface your bed with if you do not heat it.

I was actually looking at making one for the theater department at UW Madison. As a technical director I use it all the time to make parts as we invent things for each production.

I just built a Huxley kit from Tech Zone. so far so good. I am using Repsnapper. When I tell it to home all the X goes toward home then runs into it and keeps trying to go further. The Z only goes 3-4 revolutions and stops the mettle flag is not in the opto. the Y does not even move. it is warm and it sounds like it is trying but does not do anything. when I tell it to print the X works perfectly

I have always wondered if there was a map of working Reprap owners. If not that would be a great idea.

Reprappers
Sweet that worked perfectly. I love the silly putty idea. I knew there was a reason I kept an egg of that on my desk.

Ok I have two gears that slip on the Stepper shaft. I was told to try Polyurethane glue. I was wondering if anyone had tried this? and if so what kind I was thinking of Gorilla Glue. Also, has anyone tried to flatten one side of the shaft to make the screw set better? If so how did you do it? I am just happy that I got it up and running today.

I have a tech zone kit. I was told it came preloaded with repsnapper. I can power it up to test the temperature of the steppers but that is about it. I have not been able to get it to do anything else.

ok I know this is going to be a stupid question, and it seems to be just out of my understanding.
I have the kit all built and wired in. every source said I have to install the run program on the computer, but I cannot find the file or how to install it. Then the next step of connecting the printer I have not found any information on. I am sure there is a page out there with the info but I am mi

sweet! that is what I was looking for! how do you keep the thermocouple from touching the brass tip? would a thin dab of heat goop work and then coder it all. or would that insulate the wires to much?

I am a bit confused on the use of the Thermocouple and Nichrome wire. I understand electricity passes through the Nichrome wire and it heats up. so I need this circuit of electricity. but what is the Thermocouple wire for. do I need to connect the ends at the tip or strip them? then how do you connect the 4 or 2 wires to the controller board?

I just bought a kit from tech zone. Everything is going together well except I can not find information on how to connect the extruder to the mother board. Everything I find has me splitting a cat 5 wire and connecting it. But this kit has cat5 connectors. On both the extruder and the motherboard. Any help would be wonderful!
