The electronic parts were mostly procured from lamington road and mechanicals were bought at Nagdevi. The extruder is improvised out of a welding nozzel. The chassis was laser cut in Goregaon.
Hope this helps.

I used a combination of l297 and l298, both of which are very primitive with just half stepping capability. But it worked and was dirt cheap. There are a few resellers for pololu in India, but as you said, they are expensive. That's one of the best options out there...
Best Luck.

I just finished putting up the webpage for my 3d printer. It was built in my spare time and is semi-finished. It prints but just barely. I moved to the US after that and have'nt been able to get back to it. If you are in India/Mumbai and have questions or concerns on building your own, I'll be more than glad to answer them.
Let me know what you think!

I was planning on arranging a meetup for RepRap builders in and around Mumbai. Anybody who is a RepRap user or is interested in building one is encouraged to join in!
Agenda: A casual meet to share ideas and experiences. I'll probably bring in my printer. You should bring yours too!
Location: Somewhere in Mumbai (TBA)
Day: TBA
Time: TBA
Please share your thoughts on this and let me know
