I swapped the stepper drivers around, connected all three endstops and entered the M119 command and it does change from High when the stops are open and Low when they are closed but the motors all still moved with the switches closed. Is there something in the firmware I should change? The Rumba board also seems unstable with all endstops connected and constantly disconnects from the computer,by roygpa - Repetier
Answered my own question...I guess an easy way to figure out if I burnt the board or the stepper driver is to swap out the driver with one that I know is working. I'll try that tonight too.by roygpa - Repetier
Do you think I might have fried that section of the board when I connected the + pin and - pins and then + to S pins when I was trying to figure out the right combination? I bought a second Rumba for another printer so I could switch the current one out. Thanks. Royby roygpa - Repetier
On the schematic here: it has X-min- 53 X-max- 54 y-min- 55 y max- 56 z-min--57 Z-max- 58 but on the pin.h table here: and in the repetier table it has: X-min- 36 X-max- 37 y-min- 34 y max- 35 z-min--32 Z-max- 33 could this be my problem?by roygpa - Repetier

Here's another stupid question. Should I be able to read a voltage across two of the three endstop pins? Thanks. Roy Edited: I guess I need the ground pin and the signal pin, not ground and 5volt.by roygpa - Repetier
I bought a Rumba board and decided to give the Repetier firmware a shot on my newly built Lulzbot TK-0 after using Sprinter for the past year on two other Prusaprinters. I've been able to get the X and Y axes moving in both direction, the extruder moves only backwards, and I cannot get the endstops to respond at all. I figure I can solve the extruder issue but for the life of me, I cannot get myby roygpa - Repetier
Would it make sense to create new sub folders for Megatronics, Rambo and Rumba (others that I cannot think of) in the Electronics sub folder or do we just use Experimental and Hobby when talking about those boards. or if they are Ramps based should we talk about them there. Thanks. Royby roygpa - Administration, Announcements, Policy
Thanks for the reply stephenrc. I plan on using the Marlin firmware with the Rumba. Royby roygpa - General
I tried to get reconstructme to work with 3 different computers using an Asus Xtion (becasue it was less costly than the Kinect,) but apparently all 3 computers are not up to snuff OpenCL- wise and reconstructme will not run. Just my experience. Royby roygpa - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
I am building a Lulzbot TK-0 with a 300x300 mm bed and bought a QU-BD silicone bed heater that draws as much as 20 amps. I am planning to use a Rumba board to control my printer. The Rumba board says the he bed connection is good for up to 11 amps, so if I connect the silicone heater I will cook the board. Should I use a relay as some suggest or a mosfet? I know only the very basic concepts ofby roygpa - General
Over the weekend I successfully released quite a bit of the magic blue smoke contained in the Heat bed Mosfet. Not just once but twice. I stupidly did not check the maximum amperage draw (20 amps) on the QU-BD silicone 300 x 300 mm bed heater. I think the mosfet is now stuck permanently "on" but that doesn't matter much since I have to find a different way to control the heated bed. Live and learby roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)
I replaced the 7805, but also found a couple cold joints, most notably the negative lead attached to the board. Still not sure what was causing the short if I wasn't even getting 12 volts where it was supposed to be. I now have 12 volts where it is supposed to be and 5 volts at least as far as the LED. I will check more joints today.by roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)
I thought I would improve my soldering skills by purchasing a Sanguinololu 1.3a kit and assembling it myself using the Reprap.org page as a guide. The assembly went pretty well until I soldered the voltage regulator 7805 on backwards and had to take it off and reverse it. After completion, I hooked it up to my computer and was able to install a Sprinter sketch to run my printer. After disconnectiby roygpa - Sanguino(lolu)

The maker of the Rumba board says it can do triple extruders. not sure what firmware supports that. here hope so, because I'm in for 2 of the Rumba boards. Royby roygpa - General

Sounds like a squished PTFE tube on the end closest to the head. That happened to mine. Fixed that and then it worked OK. Take it apart, ream out the PTFE. I cut mine a little shorter and more pointed on that end. Royby roygpa - Plastic Extruder Working Group

have been playing around with printing a few 3D logos for friends (college and pro American football teams) and found a program called b2G that will convert monochrome .bmp file to stl file. Then I clean up the stl file in meshlab and reduce the number of triangles to a point that slic3er won't choke on it. Then print it. The whole process is a pain in the butt. When I bought my J-Head when I assembled it I cranked the head on so tight that I actually made the hole in the PTFE so small that ABS could not flow. I took it apart and reamed out the bottom end of the PTFE and shortened the ptfe tube and it started working better. Is it possible that you crushed the PTFE? Royby roygpa - Reprappers
First, I apologize for double posting but I wanted to make sure that everyone who is considering purchasing a J-Head from Brian, knows that I fixed my problem. I didn't think I could change the title of the original thread since I didn't start it. Please see below. Looks like my problem was operator error on my part. Looks like my problem was operator error on my part. Yesterday I took the J-Head completely apart and it sure looked like I compressed the nozzle end of the PTFE into the nozzle so much so that it nearly plugged itself, or at least narrowed the hole to almost closed. I cut off the plugged area, reamed the PTFE out with a drill bit, found my 0.50 mm drill bits that I put away in a safe place and fby roygpa - General
