You're already using fancy extrusions, so maybe you should get fully supported rails instead. End supported rails will work if there is no rapidly moving toolhead on them (so that excludes the Gantry moving in Z already) but supported rails will only flex as much as the extrusions... which look super beefy, so they shouldn't flex much at all...by WarriorMe - Mechanics

I will be using fully supported 16mm round rails, so i am not worried about them flexing, and the bearings don't feel like they have any play in them, they seem to instead have some slight pre-load to them. I think i will just place my leadscrews behind the rails then, and hope for the best I think i will go and buy a steel rod too, because the Y axis, unlike your Z-axis, will have to be rigidby WarriorMe - Mechanics
Would it not be advantageous to have only one hotend moving though? You could still use the same mechanism, but only one hotend would suffer from the imprecision in the mechanics, so you would essentially end up with a main hotend that is accurate, and a supporting hotend that is not quite as accurate, but can be deployed and retracted ...by WarriorMe - Mechanics
2-wire endstops are usually a microswitch that opens when triggered, so the fact that it triggers when you touch your wires probably means that one of the wires or connectors is broken, so that the circuit opens when you move them slightly...by WarriorMe - Mechanics
I have been thinking about something similar too... I think running shafts all the way from a stationary motor to the extruder might introduce a lot of backlash, simply because it requires multiple sliders and gears to drive one axis... I was wondering though if similar weight-savings could not be achieved by mounting the extruder motor to one end of the X-Gantry and driving the extruder usingby WarriorMe - Mechanics

Hello everyone I am currently designing my own 3D-Printer, and i would like the printbed to move in the Z-Direction with this one. At about 30x30 cm it will use a fairly large printbed, so cantilevering it seems like a suboptimal solution.
