Really? +/- 0.01 millimeters from something like this? Repeatable? Why is anyone using end-stops, besides the fact that they're specified? Yes, the price has actually bounced a little since my last survey. I've also noticed the trend toward "Buy it now" instead of auctions. I guess as long as someone does buy it before you are ready to retail your next set, the price requested was accurate for the market. spacexula Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It amazes me how strong of gravity the $200-$250 &by pica - General

walnut media (hulls) is available at the pet shops around here for bedding. Here is some of the same stuff used to clean brass. Here is a $60 "tumbler" from the same online vendor. That looks really nice. Did you CNC mill the parts?by pica - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
Solved. I made an ersatz plastic welding gun out of a heat gun and a cone made out of a soft drink can. I inserted a bolt and some washers to act like a dam for the ABS, although the softened ABS didn't flow very well. I then heated the area with the gun and also heated a length of 3mm ABS rod. When we got to the "taffy" stage, I squished them together. The part itself got very soft. The boltby pica - General

I've got a part (x-360-z-bearing-plate_2off.stl) that broke during reaming. It looks like an easy fix, but I thought I'd ask. What method do you recommend for repair? Hot glue 2 part Epoxy (5 minute, or standard JB weld?) ABS glue or ABS solvent thickened, (with all that scrap you have been reaming out of holes) to the level of toothpaste, and glopped in place. How hard would it be to go in and make the assembly pictures color coded such that the M3 hardware was a different color than the M4 stuff? I guess I could touch it up in gimp if I had to. I think color coding the hardware would help a bit in assembly Also, naming each of the three sub-assemblies might help a bit. I'm on the "fixed" end of the X axis, the end with the stepper on it. ABS's density is 0.0376 pounds per cubic inch. (per google) My cost delivered was $7.35/lb So a solid 1" cube would be .0376 * 7.35 = $0.28 + electricity, deprecation, and labor. (Right?) Except the infill does not have to be 100%, and a granule extruder would lower cost down to around a fifth as the filament, (I think). But we're not there yet. oh yes, I remember the "match drilling part". I've watched quite a few assembly videos, it looks like he sent out kits at one point. How do you get the dimensions off the DXF file? I'd like to work on one of these myself, but I've not had time to dig into learning a CAD program. Do you think shaping the plywood by powertools, laying out the cuts by hand is feasible? I don't have reasonable access to a CNC router or a laser cutter, but I could make accurate cuts with a RA saw or a circular saw, and I do have access to a drillby pica - General

The catch is that you would have to buy old hardware off ebay or somewhere, but it's plentiful and dirt cheap there. There's a package that's nearly abandonware on sourceforge called palmorb Palmorb is a program that lets a $12 palmpilot of a decade ago emulate a Matrix Orbital LK204-25 LCD. A preliminary search shows code for the Arduino already exists to drive this type of LCD. The sourceforby pica - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
This thread has given me some ideas. McMaster has 5/16 brass rod (6 feet) for $15 (8953K47) A length of this could be cut off, hobbed in the center and threaded at both ends. Since it's brass, you could use even the cheapest taps to hob the center. You would also need a M8-1.25 die to thread both ends. The exact location of the center hob would not be critical, since you could adjust the nutsby pica - General

It's common to get zero updates - beyond USPS.com telling you that they have the package - until the package has been scanned on arrival. I remember them differentiating between having the package info, and actually having the package in the system. It looks like in this case, your item belongs with the former. I usually ship USPS to a PO box, so at least I know when to go and check my box. wesby pica - General

Try the attached. I took an image from and brought it into gimp. Then I rotated it, merged it with a 8.5x11 layer, and printed it locally as a PDF. My printer is broken right now, so I can't verify it's the proper size. Leave comments on the thread if it works.by pica - General Mendel Topics
Here's nop head's simplified "squashed frog" blog post, but I don't see a file to convert. I assume you want to print one out on letter size paper, paste it to some store-bought MDF and "scroll saw" it out. I've been bothered by the lack of a letter sized template myself, but I instead bought a laser-cut version on ebay, so it dropped off the to-do list.by pica - General Mendel Topics
Not the workaround you are looking for, but most printers will take A4, and if you just need a few sheets, you can trim down a bit of legal size paper to 11.7 x 8.3 in. We use to do that when we had short run and nothing in stock. I'll try to take a stab at what you are requesting, but could you toss me a link to the original version?by pica - General Mendel Topics
