It's the default value for Adrian's geared extruder: 2.2. Don't have time to upload now so I'll do it later. Meanwhile, here are the important ones: Speed: feed rate 30 flow rate 60 travel feed rate 50 Dimension: Extruder Retraction Speed: 300.0 mm/s Retraction distance: 85 mm Restart Extra Distance: 5.0 mm Seems like a lot of retraction but it gives reasonably little ooze and it extrudes wellby brnrd - Reprappers
I think the 3M blue painters tape has a plastic coating. Not sure what kind it is but it's probably compatible with PLA but not ABS. From the wiki, PLA is actually a poly-ester even though it's made from polymerizing lactic acid.by brnrd - Polymer Working Group
I recommend trying ReplicatorG 023 with Skeinforge 35 and print the hexagon.stl example that comes with it. I would slow down the feed rate to 40 and the travel feed rate to 50 and adjust the flow rate to get the the last layer solid. You also need to set the parameters in Dimension to reverse the extruder to prevent ooze. I can't access my Mac right now that I use with the Mendel so I can't sendby brnrd - Reprappers
I tried ReplicatorG 023 on a MacPro and MacBook Air both running leopard it still can't send Gcode to the Mendel with Gen 3 ITechzone remix) but it generates great Gcode with Skeinforge which I send with the Reprap host or RepSnapper.by brnrd - Reprappers
ReplicatorG puts a nice GUI in front of Skeinforge as far as I can tell. I don't know how to position and orient the part on the bed with Skeinforge and it's easier to do it with ReplicatorG. In theory, ReplicatorG can also send the G-code file to the printer. I have the same problem with the simulator in ReplicatorG. It would be nice if there's an option to slow it down. It would help a lot if people state what Mac and OS system they're using. I've been using a MacPro 8-core and MacBook Air both running Leopard (10.5.8) with a Mendel with Techzone Gen 3 remix electronics. The GUI of the reprap host works but it has a lot of bugs. I tried a few versions and settled on the latest 64-bit version dated in July since seems to be the only one that can reliable send G-cby brnrd - General
I got the g-codes from Skeinforge to work with the Mendel with Gen 3 Techzone remix by turning on the option "Break Z motion into separate moves..." option on in replicatorG and also turning acceleration off in the reprap firmware using the Arduino software. But I still can't get ReplicatorG to talk to it. I use either the Reprap host or RepSnapper to send codes.by brnrd - General
I downloaded ReplicatorG version 023 and I found that it also doesn't communicate with my Mendel the Techzone remix Gen 3 motherboard. I loaded the Reprap firmware and it seems to be incompatible with it. It comes with a machine definitions for Mendel with Gen 3 board but it's not clear to me if I have to load the firmware from ReplicatorG. I tried doing this but the printer still didn't respond.by brnrd - General
I'm also trying to use Replicagorg 0023 on my newly build Mendel with Techzone remix electronics and Adrian's geared extruder. I don't have a heated bed yet so I want to stay with PLA. I can use some help since I'm not exactly sure what settings I need to change. I've been searching for clear explanations on ReplicatorG and Skeinforge settings so that I can translate the reprap host settings forby brnrd - Experimental
