Great work in developing this firmware.
I had a couple of queries
- would it possible to adapt it to work with Astroprint instead of Octoprint
- would the Python portion be able to run on Micropython (am thinking of porting it to an ESP8266.

Really impressive work on the motor controller.
Was wondering if you had come across the Klipper firmware forum link? It splits operation into two tasks, one running python on the host to interpret gcode into stepper moves, and the second running on the MCU.
Was thinking the Python part could be adapted to run on the ESP and interface with your motor controller.
